Soap Opera Actors Who’ve Acted on More Than One Soap, Much To Our Delight

Showing their versatility, soap actors transform for roles…

These guys are no strangers to playing the field – on daytime television that is. Last week Soaps.com recognized Soap opera actress who’ve been on other soaps for shows such as All My Children, Days of our Lives, General Hospital and Guiding Light and Soaps.com has nothing but respect for the following men who have also made more than one role memorable.

David Canary:

Although most well-known for his dual portrayal of twins Adam & Stuart Chandler on All My Children, Canary’s range went beyond Pine Valley. His first soap opera role was on the iconic Peyton Place as Dr. Russ Gehring – a performance that landed him on primetime’s Bonanza – before doing a stint on Another World as Steven Frame. Still, it’s his goofy Stuart and stern Adam that stand out.

Sean Kanan:

The Karate Kid bad boy first broke into daytime in 1996, playing the troubled alcoholic AJ Quartermaine off-and-on over the years on General Hospital before his character was killed off in 2014. But that wasn’t the only role he became known for. In 1999 he played undercover agent Jude Cavanaugh on Sunset Beach before taking on the role of Deacon Sharpe, first on The Young and the Restless, then on The Bold and the Beautiful. Kanan also went online playing characters on The Bay and Youthful Daze.

Stephen Nichols:

Just take off the eyepatch and Nichols is no longer Steve “Patch” Johnson, the PI from Days of our Lives – he’s billionaire businessman Tucker McCall from The Young and the Restless or unlucky-in love Stefan Cassadine from General Hospital. But even before all of that, he played Dr. Skyler Gates on Santa Barbara, his first foray into daytime after a few bit roles on evening soaps Dallas and Dynasty.

Vincent Irizarry:

Talk about longevity. Irizarry first appeared on daytime in 1987 at Dr. Scott Clark on “Santa Barbara” before really making an impression on Guiding Light as Lujack Luvonaczek before becoming the nefarious Dr. David Hayward on All My Children, and occasionally on One Life to Live. He played the evil doc until both shows were gone for good in 2013 – in between playing David Chow on Young and the Restless – and finally in 2016 Days of our Lives scooped him up to play the long-lost Deimos Kiriakis.

A. Martinez:

Another Santa Barbara alum, Martinez already had an incredibly extensive acting career before he took on the role of super steamy Cruz Castillo from 1984 – 1992. After that, he had a bit role on Port Charles in 1997 before taking on the character of Roy DeLucca on General Hospital in 2002, then another small role of Ray Montez on One Life to Live in 2008. His new role on Days of our Lives as the Hernandez patriarch Eduardo is already showing his layers as an actor, and hopefully will keep him in Salem for a while.

Scott Clifton:

Still just a baby-faced actor new on the scene when he first began playing the spoiled-but-sweet Dillon Quartermaine on General Hospital in 2003, he quickly became a fan favorite whose appeal followed him when he played recovering drug addict Schuyler Joplin on One Life to Live in 2009. Now as the New Age Liam Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful, he is forced to be in a perpetual love triangle, love always alluding him.
