January casting notes included some cameos, a few high-profile departures, and some actors moving to new soaps….

The Bold and the Beautiful:
Katie Thompson and Chasen Bell appeared as Forrester Creations employees in January on “B&B.” Also, Orson Bean, real life husband of Alley Mills (Pam), did a cameo as airplane passenger Howard, Catherine Toribio played Forrester executive, Veronica, and Theodora Greece appeared as Bill’s assistant, Alison. News broke that former “The Young and the Restless” actor Chris McKenna will join sister show, “B&B,” and it was revealed that a former “Gilligan’s Island” actress would be doing a stint. Days of our Lives:
Joseph Mascolo left his longtime role as Salem’s Stefano DiMera in January, a month that also saw Shawn Christian exit as Dr. Daniel Jonas. Molly Burnett returned as Melanie, Christian Ganiere debuted as a recast Parker, and Nadia Bjorlin was back as Chloe. Zak Henri played Henry, Brandon Beemer reprised the role of Shawn Douglas Brady, Eve Brenner played Maude, Joseph Kamal appeared as Vadim, Jonas Fisch was on as Jacob, and Larry Poindexter popped in as Father Louis. In casting news, Ximena Duque won the role of Bianca, Greg Vaughan teased of a return for Eric, and Marie Wilson’s debut date was revealed. General Hospital:
Jason Thompson exited as Port Charles’ Dr. Patrick Drake in January, along with Brooklyn Rae Silzer as Emma. Kimberly McCulloch returned as Robin to help facilitate those departures. Shari Belafonte debuted as Mayor Janice Lomax, Hugo Napier returned as Larry Ashton, and Carolyn Hennesy was back as Diane. News came that Matt Cohen was cast as Dr. Griffin Munro and that former “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Ashley Jones had joined the soap as Professor Parker Forsyth. She first appeared on January 29. The Young and the Restless:
Mara McCaffrey debuted in January when her character, Natalie, arrived in Genoa City from Switzerland. Beth Maitland appeared as Traci, Jerry Douglas was back as John’s ghost, Sophie Pollono popped up as Delia’s ghost, Jess Walton returned as Jill, and former “General Hospital” actor Jason Thompson debuted as a recast Billy. Jared Breeze joined the show as Stitch’s son Max, and two “Survivor” personalities appeared in a cameo in Crimson Lights.
