May’s soap opera casting news included new casting calls, some appearances and returns, and quite a few exits.

The Bold and the Beautiful:
In May, “B&B” began hunting for a tall actor with a great body to play Thomas Forrester, and also sought to fill the role of Jimmy with an African-American ‘name’ actor in the 55 – 60 year age range. Other casting calls included a 16 – 19 year old multilingual actress to play a beautiful introvert, and an African-American male in the 18 – 20 year age range to fill the role of a sexy, well-educated leading man. Scott Turner Schofield debuted as Maya’s friend Nick, Todd McKee dropped in as Jake, and Ron Masak played the Forrester Creations caretaker. News broke that Schae Harrison would be back as the late Darla, and also that Rome Flynn had been cast as Zende Forrester Dominguez. Days of our Lives:
New Salem casting calls in May included one for a beautiful brunette age 16 – 17 to play Danielle, another for a 16 – 17 year old actor to fill the role of Mason, and also a beautiful blonde to play Shawn and Belle’s now 15 year old daughter, Claire. James Lastovic won the role of Joey Johnson, but no first airdate has been given, and fitness model TJ Hoban and Alexander Bruszt began taping this month at “DOOL.” Jason Cook, Alison Sweeney and Camila Banus were added to the growing list of names returning for the 50th anniversary. Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes returned as Doug and Julie in May, and Patsy Pease was back as Kimberley. Rayna Tharani returned as Navidad, Jonathan Fraser played Carson, Betsy Baker was a diner waitress, Sevy Di Cione played Alessio – Chief Carabiniere, Shon Lange appeared as an agent, and Rafael Petardi was the Italian detective, Giuseppe.
