The soaps were canceled but the actors still pushed on.

In this week’s column Soaps.com has uncovered a wedding, a stage appearance, an MTV series farewell, a secret web series, a popular film role, fan Q&As and other updates in regards to the goings-on of former daytime stars of canceled soap operas “All My Children,” “Loving,” “One Life to Live,” “Passions” and “Sunset Beach.”

Eden Riegel set to arrive at CLUB 5150.
New web series! Daytime Emmy Award winner Eden Riegel is best known for her role on “All My Children” as Bianca Montgomery (2010 to 2013), which she crossed over to “One Life to Live” as from 2004 to 2005. She also appeared as Heather Stevens on “The Young and the Restless” from 2010 to 2011 and will be heading to the ‘secret new’ Steve Silverman web series “CLUB 5150” as Seven. Production is set to begin in August with more details to come. Riegel has had various guest roles in primetime over the last few years and most recently appeared on “Rizzoli & Isles” in March.

Jonathan Bennett lands MTV role.
Jonathan Bennett was one of many actors to play “All My Children’s” JR Chandler (2001 to 2002) over the years. The actor has been a mainstay in made for television movies, primetime and film, including 2005’s “Mean Girls.” Fans will be able to see Bennett during the second half of MTV’s fifth and final season of “Awkward.” He’ll play Ethan in multiple episodes and will appear in scenes with Ashley Rickards, whose character Jenna Hamilton meets Ethan at her summer job. The comedy series returns on Monday August 31 at 9:00 PM. Bennett was also seen hosting the 3rd Annual Reality Television Awards in Los Angeles on May 13.

If you’re a “Guiding Light” fan and you haven’t seen the May 15 release “Pitch Perfect 2” yet you’re missing Brittany Snow (ex-Susan Lemay, 1999 to 2000) in action. The actress returned in the sequel to the 2012 film as Chloe, where the girls plan to regain their status by being the first Americans to win an international competition. Anna Kendrick (“Twilight” saga), Rebel Wilson (“Super Fun Night”) and Hailee Steinfeld (“Romeo & Juliet”) also star. Snow was a recent guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and performed her favorite karaoke song for the audience. Watch as the actress reveals, “My go-to song is…” and view her in the promo for “Pitch Perfect 2” as well.

Whatever happened to Britt Helfer?
Fans have wondered what former soap actress Britt Helfer has been up to these days. She first arrived in daytime as Lilly Slater on “Loving” from 1986 to 1987. From there Helfer had roles on “Young Warriors” (Heather), “Alley Cat” (hooker), “The Princess Academy” (Lulu Belle), “Dragnet” (Hillary Barton) and was last seen in 1992 as Kate on “Body Trouble.” Fun fact! The actress has been married to “Guiding Light’s” Robert Newman (ex-Joshua Lewis) since 1986 and the couple shares two children.
