Catching up with the former daytime actors.

In our latest column, Soaps.com has some updates surrounding the careers of former soap stars of daytime canceled soaps “All My Children,” “As the World Turns,” “Guiding Light,” “One Life to Live” and “Sunset Beach.”

A married couple co-stars, a sad passing, a new home-based web series and more…

Jill Larson returns to the big screen in Forever.
Last year “All My Children” alum Jill Larson (ex-Opal Cortlandt, 1989 to 2013) starred in the horror flick “The Taking of Deborah Logan.” The actress will turn up next in the 2015 film “Forever.” Larson will play Rachel, as the story follows an investigative reporter named Alice (Deborah Ann Woll, “Daredevil,” “True Blood”) who suffers a tremendous loss but finds the strength and to move on and love again. Keep an eye out for the film’s release date.

Cameron Mathison hosts and stars in new web series.
The W Network will be the platform for a new web series hosted by and starring Cameron Mathison (“All My Children’s” ex-Ryan Lavery). Cameron’s House Rules will premiere online on Tuesday March 17 and give fans a backstage pass into the former soap actor’s Los Angeles home renovations. Also look for Mathison to guest host on W’s “Game of Homes” on the same date, which was the inspiration for him to open up his home renovations for all to see. Mathison has had roles in numerous Hallmark Channel movies over the last few years and most recently appeared on “The Exes” as Rob. Watch a promo for both of Mathison’s W Network shows below.

Billy Magnussen to The Good Wife.
Billy Magnussen, who played Casey Hughes on “As the World Turns” from 2008 to 2010, will be guest-starring in CBS’ “The Good Wife.” In the episode titled “False Feed,” Alicia (series star Julianna Margulies) is faced with a decision regarding Peter, and Kurt McVeigh is called in to testify in a case surrounding a man paralyzed by a malfunctioning gun. Tune in Sunday March 15 at 9:00 PM to see Magnussen in the role of Chris Fife.
