Soaps.com has an award show to honor some special furry friends during the week of January 12 as well as a DVD release, renewals and cancellations, teasers, casting and more in our latest Primetime Dish column…

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson:
John Travolta (“Wild Hogs,” “Grease”) has been cast to play the role of attorney Robert Shapiro, and will also serve as a producer, in FX’s upcoming ten-part mini-series by Ryan Murphy (“Glee”). David Schwimmer (“Friends”) will play Robert Kardashian, who was on O.J. Simpson’s defense team in the 1995 trial. The series will be told from the lawyers’ perspectives and will include the goings-on behind the scenes. Filming begins in Los Angeles sometime this year.

Arrow:
On Tuesday January 13 at 9:00 PM the CW will air a repeat of its December 3, 2014 episode titled “The Brave and the Bold.” Then on Wednesday January 14 at 8:00 PM the network will air its December 10, 2014 repeat episode titled “The Climb.”

Cougar Town:
On TBS’ Tuesday January 13 episode titled “Full Grown Boy,” Chick’s interest in a Civil War reenactment leaves Jules feeling overprotective. Bobby considers moving to another state for work, and Travis needs Ellie to destroy Laurie’s choices for baby names.

Covert Affairs:
Canceled. The USA Network has canceled its drama series after five seasons, due to low ratings.

Dallas:
DVD alert! TNT may have canceled the reboot series but fans can still add the third and final season to their DVD collection. On Tuesday January 13 “Dallas: The Complete Third Season” will be released on DVD to include three disks of episodes plus deleted scenes. Visit Amazon and other online venues.

Downton Abbey:
In PBS’ Sunday January 11 9:00 PM episode, Rose wants to have a radio in the house. An art historian appears. Daisy is tutored by Sarah, and an embarrassing purchase is made on Mary’s behalf by Anna.

Girls:
Renewed! HBO will be bringing back its comedy, staring Lena Dunham (Hannah Horvath), for a fifth season. For now, watch the season four promo video below and tune in for the premiere on Sunday January 11 at 9:00 PM.

Glee:
In FOX’s Friday January 16 8:00 PM episode titled “Jagged Little Tapestry,” Rachel and Kurt have trouble trying to rebuild the glee club, and Becky brings her new boyfriend to town, which concerns Sue.

In casting news… Gina Gershon (“Elementary,” “Cleaners”) has been cast to play Blaine Anderson’s (Darren Criss) mother, Pam Anderson. Keep an eye out for her appearance on February 20 in the episode titled “The Wedding.”

Gotham:
On Monday January 12 at 8:00 PM FOX will air a repeat of its October 27, 2014 episode titled “Spirit of the Goat.”

Look for many secrets to fill the CW’s January 16 8:00 PM episode titled “The Curling Iron.” Friday episode teasers: Wade goes to Lemon for love advice regarding Zoe, who focuses on work verses her issues with Wade. Lemon and Brick work to hide the truth about their respective love lives from Grandma Bettie, and Lavon and George put their differences aside to get the scoop on Lemon’s new boyfriend Henry.
