October casting news included some big departures, some villainous returns, and some interesting guest stints!
The Bold and the Beautiful:
“B&B” actress Heather Tom’s son, Zane Achor, returned on October 1 as Baby Will, and actor/comedian Fred Willard played John Forrester for three episodes early in the month. Katherine Kelly Lang’s character, Brooke, departed for the Milan offices of Forrester Creations to accommodate the actress’ stint on “Dancing With the Stars Italy.” The previous casting call for Camilla was changed to an actress in the 18 – 22 year age range to play the role of Janie. The “Big Brother” houseguests made their appearance at the Halloween bash at Bikini Beach on October 30 and 31, and Dutch entertainer Ferry Doedens joined four “B&B” cast members to shoot scenes in Amsterdam that will air in November. Days of our Lives:
October brought the dramatic Salem exits of James Scott’s EJ DiMera and Alison Sweeney’s Sami Brady characters. Guy Wilson also departed as Will, but will return soon. Tom Choi joined “DOOL” as Eve’s doctor, Dr. Chung. Upcoming returns include Molly Burnett, who is expected back as Melanie by the end of fall, and Wally Kurth, who tweeted about being back as Justin in the spring. Marie Wilson’s guest stint as Bree Tjaden kicked off on October 31, and Melissa Archer is due to air as Serena on December 5. Billy Miller debuted as Port Charles' Jason Morgan on October 1. Also this month, William Allen Young appeared as Judge Walters, Jeffrey Vincent Parise was back as Carlos, Sebastian Roche reprised his role of Jerry Jacks, Donna Mills returned as Madeline Reeves, Robin Mattson was back as Heather Webber, and Hugo Napier returned as Ned's father, Larry. The Young and the Restless:
October kicked off with the return of Max Ehrich as Genoa City's Fenmore, and the debut of Scott Elrod as Joe Clark. Elizabeth Hendrickson and Sophie Pollono made surprise visits as Chloe and Delia's ghost respectively. Helen Slater was back as Dr. Chiverton, Owen and Henry Leark debuted as Connor, Seana Kofoed played Madame Isadora, Scott Paulin appeared as Dr. Botnik, and Gerald Downey was Dr. Ramsey. Kelly Sullivan first appeared as new character, Sage, on October 28, and November will bring the debut of Justin Hartley as Adam, Sally Kellerman as Constance, and the return of Jennifer Gareis as Grace and Julianne Morris Polaha as Amy.
