Soap Stars Dish with Soaps.com about Eating Out or Dining in!
Molly Burnett (Melanie Layton
Days of Our Lives) recently told Christine Fix, "I love going out to dinner with friends. Rachel Melvin and I are way into Chipotle and Pizza! (laughs)"
Lesli Kay (Felicia Forrester, Bold and the Beautiful) says to Lori Wilson, "I enjoy cooking because I like knowing what’s in my food. I’ve always enjoyed cooking, but my family eats when they want to eat so it’s kinda hard. Right now my husband and I have Zone food delivery service. It’s three meals and two snacks a day delivered to your door every night. I’m not on a diet; it’s just to make sure I get healthy eating. You know it’s like fresh fish and fresh vegetables; otherwise it’s really hard to go shopping every day to make sure that happens. For the kids, I cook for them every day. I make homemade mac n cheese that my kids love. People crack up but it’s that homemade mac n cheese and green bean casserole, but they love it. It’s in their West Virginia blood."
Shannon Burrell asked Judith Chapman (Gloria Bardwell, The Young and the Restless) "Are you a big cook or would you rather eat out?" Judith says, "James is the brilliant cook in the family. I had to cook last night since he was gone all day yesterday. I love to cook, I love staying at home. Being in LA so much of the time, being away from James, being away from my dogs, I really like to come home and stay home!"
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester Bold and the Beautiful) told Lori Wilson," That’s a toughy for me. I enjoy a good hot man cooking for me! (laughs) I enjoy staying in. I cook, but I don’t know if I’m the best, but I enjoy it. I usually stay in; I’m a burger and steak kind of girl. I like barbecues and all that fun stuff."
Amy Mistretta talked with John Paul Lavoisier (Rex Balsom,, One Life to Live), who said, "We [John-Paul and Farah Fath (OLTL's Gigi Morasco)] don’t cook all that much. We prefer to order in."
Kyle Lowder (Rick Forrester, Bold and the Beautiful) told Lori Wilson, "It’s almost a toss-up. I love to cook, I really do. I’m more of a barbecuer. I do love to cook, but I love to eat out. I like to get dressed up and the thing about eating out is you can just get up and leave the table, there’s no cleaning up afterwards."
Lori Wilson tells us that Blake Berris, (ex-Nick Fallon Days of Our Lives) says, "I love both a lot. I love cooking. My mom is a brilliant cook and she’s taught me a thing or two in the kitchen, so I have a great respect for people who are able to make great tasting things in their kitchen. I like the whole process of it: cooking something and the satisfaction of eating it. Cleaning up kind of sucks though. But then again, I also love going out with friends or a date to a great restaurant. I couldn’t decide. I think you need both."

We’ve a few soap stars who seem to know their way around the kitchen and could whip up their most loyal soap fans a delish meal. On the other hand, there are a few soap stars who prefer to dine out. Trendy restaurants versus home cooking!
Soaps.com reporters recently caught up with a few soap stars and asked them if they prefer eating out to dining in. Here’s what they had to say:
Taylor Spreitler (Mia, Days of Our Lives) let Lori Wilson know a secret. “The only thing I know how to cook is Ramen noodles and I burn them sometimes so, definitely dining out!”
Kevin Schmidt (Noah Newman, The Young and the Restless) was happy to tell Christine Fix, “I get around a kitchen pretty well! My brothers and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for friends this year at our place. Thirteen pound turkey, ten pounds of smoked beef, spicy green-beans and homemade mozzarella sticks. The video’s on my YouTube channel. I enjoy a meal out at my favorite spots as well!”
Mykel Shannon Jenkins (Charlie Baker, Bold and the Beautiful) told Lori Wilson, “I gotta cook at home. They put too much stuff on stuff. I’m a Texas boy. You don’t need sauce on meat, just cook it right. The grill got flavor if you know how to use it…I’m thrifty, I was raised that way. I don’t know if I’m ever going to break out of it. If I’m celebrating, I’m going to let somebody else do it, but if I’m just, “Hey let’s go out to eat,” no! Hey, I’ll just defrost…I cook steak that makes Ruth’s Chris want to cry. I know how to do it. I like to get my own meals. I like to take care of my body and don’t want to have to work too hard to get back what I worked hard to already have. I like to keep it real economical, really, really good and really, really uncomplicated. I’m a caveman with it.”
Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan Forrester Bold and the Beautiful) confessed to Lori Wilson, “I definitely prefer eating at home because I know the kind of food I’m getting. We eat mostly organic.”
Amy Mistretta talked with Kassie DePaiva, (Blair McBain, One Life to Live) who said, “I enjoying cooking first, eating out then takeout – in that order.” When asked, “Do you have any favorite recipes,” by Amy, Kassie admitted she doesn’t really use any!
Windsor Harmon (Thorne Forrester, Bold and the Beautiful) told Lori Wilson, “I absolutely enjoy doing both. I love to get up in the mornings and cook breakfast for the kids before school. I love doing the big dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas to where I can find myself cooking ten to twelve hours a day at times. But I love going to restaurants all over the world. Especially because of the show, I’ve had the opportunity to experience some of the most phenomenal restaurants on the planet. Ronn (Moss, Ridge, B&B) and I were fortunate to present at an awards show in Monte Carlo and I went to…I think it was rated in the top 5 in the world and this French restaurant was built on the side of a mountain about two miles up from the ocean. They just treated us like we were Prince Charles’ brothers. It was unbelievable. There’s nothing like it. I remember my first trip with the show and we went to Lake Como and Brad (Bell, executive producer, B&B) had taken us to this amazing restaurant and we sat outside and it was covered in vines and we just had this great wine and the food was just unbelievable. That’s something a lot of people don’t get to do. I do love that, but I do love cooking, especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with Cajun food and stuff like that. Ronn Moss will tell you that too. I’m a better cook than his girlfriend (laughs).”
