Paul Anthony Stewart onstage in Kiss Me, Kate.
"Guiding Light" alum Paul Anthony Stewart (ex-Danny Santos, 1999 to 2009) will take the stage in a starring role for the production "Kiss Me, Kate." Stewart will play Fred Graham/Petruchio, alongside Elizabeth Stanley (who appeared as a mother on "All My Children" in 2013), Mara Davi ("Smash") and Tyler Hanes ("One Life To Live's" ex-Brian, 2003). The feature surrounds a look back on two feuding couples and their onstage and backstage antics during a touring musical production of "The Taming Of The Shrew." Performances will run from June 11 through July 12 on Boyd-Quinson Mainstage at 30 Union Street in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. For tickets visit the Barrington Stage Company.
Peggy O'Shea passes away at 91.
Variety reported that soap opera writer Peggy O'Shea passed away in Los Angeles on Thursday May 1 at the age of 91 due to complications from a stroke. O'Shea wrote for "One Life To Live" as co-head writer and "Capitol" as head writer. She also contributed to "Mod Squad," "The Bold Ones: The New Doctors" and "The ABC Afternoon Playbreak," to name a few. Soaps.com sends our condolences to the actress' family and friends.
Andrea Navedo shows off comedic side in Jane The Virgin.
Andrea Navedo appeared in daytime on "Guiding Light" back in 2000 as Theresa Sandoval, as well as on "One Life To Live" from 1995 to 1997 as Linda Soto. The actress is set to take part in the CW's upcoming fall series "Jane The Virgin" as Xiomara, Jane's (Gina Rodriguez, "B&B's" ex-Beverly) mother. The story follows Jane, a virgin, who finds out in the presence of her mother that she's pregnant, due to her doctor accidentally artificially inseminating her. Former "One Life To Live" actors and husband and wife team Kamar de los Reyes (ex-Antonio Vega) and "The Fosters'" Sherri Saum (ex-Keri Reynolds) welcomed twin boys into their fold on Tuesday May 13. Kamar de los Reyes to Major Crimes.
As if he won't be busy enough with twin boys, Kamar de los Reyes has landed a guest role for two episodes on TNT's "Major Crimes." Reyes took to Twitter last month and shared his script, which casts him in episode #302 "Personal Day" and episode #303 "Frozen Assets." Stay tuned for his air dates, as season three premieres on Monday June 9.

Tika Sumpter in Get On Up.
Tika Sumpter, better known to "One Life To Live" fans as Llanview's Layla Williamson, will appear in the upcoming James Brown biopic "Get On Up." Look for her to play a singer named Yvonne Fair in the movie that looks back on the life of the late music legend set to be released on August 1, 2014. Sumpter has had a successful career since leaving daytime behind with roles in "The Haves And The Have Nots," "Being Mary Jane," "Ride Along," "The Game" and "Gossip Girl."
Shenaz Treasuryvala spreads smiles across the world.
Shenaz Treasuryvala's "One Life To Live" character Rama Patel was known for her funny dialogue, which made her fans laugh and smile whenever she was in Llanview. Now the actress is traveling around the world making others smile with her show "Smile With Shenaz." During an interview with Bollywood Hungama the actress admitted, "I can make anyone smile within the first 50 seconds of meeting me. Trust me, I can even make the grumpiest of the person to smile in a jiffy! More of such smile factors can be seen in my current show titled 'Smile With Shenaz,' wherein, in just two minutes, I tell stories of different people from around the world." “All My Children” alum Colin Egglesfield (ex-Josh Madden, “The Client List,” “Rizzoli & Isles”) is heading back to primetime. The actor has landed a guest-starring role on CBS’ “Unforgettable” as a Coast Guard Investigative agent named Charles Sewell. TV Guide is reporting that his character will lend a hand to Al (Dylan Walsh) and Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) as they investigate a New York boat explosion. Egglesfield will turn up in episode five of season three, which premieres at 10:00 PM on Sunday June 29.

Finn Wittrock stars in My All American.
Finn Wittrock, last seen in daytime as “All My Children’s” Damon Miller from 2009 to 2011, will be heading to the big screen in “My All American.” The film is based on a true story and follows defensive back Freddie Steinmark (Wittrock) who lost his leg after a cancer diagnosis, which ultimately ended his football career in 1969 while playing with the University of Texas. Aaron Eckhart (“Battle Los Angeles”) also stars, as the film begins shooting in Austin, Texas in June.
Matthew Cowles passes away at 69.
Longtime “All My Children” actor Matthew Cowles died at the age of 69 in his home on Thursday May 22. Cowles, a veteran actor, will always be remembered for his role as Pine Valley’s Billy Clyde Tuggle from 1984 to 1990, as well as his return for the online reboot in 2013. Other daytime credits include “A World Apart” (ex-Chris Kahlman), “Loving” (ex-Eban Japes) and “The Bold And The Beautiful” (ex-Curtis Love), plus numerous primetime appearances. Soaps.com sends his wife Christine Baranski (“The Good Wife”), their daughters, family and friends our deepest condolences.

Rebecca Budig reveals pregnancy.
Rebecca Budig, who played Greenlee Smythe on “All My Children” from 1999 to 2011, is going to be a mom. Grayson McCouch, known to soap opera fans for his seven year run on “As The World Turns” as Dusty Donovan, is heading to primetime. The actor has been cast in FOX’s upcoming prequel to “Batman” titled “Gotham.” Look for McCouch as Dr. Thomas Wayne sometime this fall, as well as Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney and Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon. Season two of Netflix’s series “Orange Is The New Black” premieres on Friday June 6. Soap alums Jason Biggs (“As The World Turns'” ex-Pete Wendall, “American Pie” films) will return as Larry Bloom, Lea DeLaria (“One Life To Live’s” ex-Madame Delphina) as Big Boo and Kate Mulgrew (“Ryan’s Hope’s” ex-Mary Ryan) as Galina ‘Red’ Reznikov. Tom Pelphrey and Chaske Spencer team up in Banshee.
Tom Pelphrey (“Guiding Light’s” ex-Jonathan Randall, “As The World Turns'” ex-Mick Dante) and Chaske Spencer (“One Life To Live’s” ex-Justice Of The Peace, “Twilight” films) have landed recurring roles on Cinemax’s “Banshee.” Pelphrey will play a former skinhead named Kurt Bunker, who wants to become a Banshee Sheriff’s Department deputy. Spencer’s character, Billy Raven, was once a Reservation Police Department deputy but now is looked at as an outcast by his people. Stay tuned for season three’s 2015 premiere date. Pelphrey will also appear in the May 29 10:00 PM episode of ABC’s “Black Box” titled “Forget Me” as Joseph Moran.
