A monster weekend.

Marvel’s new release “Iron Man 3” hit theaters around the country on Friday May 3 and was a huge success. Behind “The Avengers,” the film’s debut was the second biggest of all-time bringing in an overwhelming $175.3 million. Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) co-star.

Not only did Kevin Feige, the film’s producer, have a lot to celebrate business-wise but in his personal life as well… Feige’s grandfather Robert E. Short turned 92 on Sunday May 5 and has a tie to Daytime. Short ran Procter and Gamble’s Daytime television programming for more than 20 years. He was the force behind such soap operas as “Search For Tomorrow,” “Guiding Light,” “As The World Turns,” “Another World,” “The Edge Of Night,” and “Texas.”

Soaps.com sends Feige our congratulations for his film success and Short a very Happy Birthday!
