Since Americans aren’t the only ones with good soapy drama, Soaps.com has listened to our readers from across the pond who have requested we keep tabs on a few British and Australian soap operas. Take a look at what’s going on with dramas from other parts of the world.

EastEnders:
Dot will be M.I.A. for a while as June Brown, who has been with the show since 1985, is taking a six-month leave of absence. The 85-year-old actress plans to write her autobiography during her time off.

While Brown will be absent from the canvas, Jamie Foreman will reportedly stay on, as he extended his contract to play Derek Branning until October.

Spoiler alert: Feeling the pressure from DCI Marsden, Phil suggests he, Ben and Jay leave town before she can connect the boys to Heather’s death. However, if Marsden is anything like American soap cops, the Mitchells have nothing to worry about.

Coronation Street:
The British soap is going on tour. With music. Yes, you read that right, the musical “Street of Dreams” will relive some of the biggest stories of the soap opera’s run. It will kick off in Manchester on May 9 and tour to Dublin, Belfast and Newcastle. Watch a promo for it below, which may not be available in all areas.
