Soap Scoop: UK/Australia Edition
Emmerdale:
As "Emmerdale" celebrates its 40th anniversary, the soap is looking to develop minority voices that aren't always represented in the industry through their writer's initiative. They are accepting original scripts until the end of May.
Spoiler alert: As Zak becomes more unstable, he fears his cancer has returned. Strangely enough, he becomes more unhinged when he learns that's not the case. Not wanting to admit his problems might be mental instead of physical, he tells Lisa he is sick again and there's no cure. Not exactly the picture of mental health.
Hollyoaks:
Spoiler alert: Mitzeee's stalker ups the ante when they send the model a creepy package the day she's about to make her TV debut. She understandably has a meltdown live on air and is left to wonder who her disturbed admirer is. Any guesses?
In an attempt to prove himself to Brendan, Joel teams up with Bart to throw a club night in his mentor's absence. Unfortunately, things don't go exactly as planned and the teen is forced to face his disapproving mentor. The long sought after respect still eludes Joel as you can probably imagine all the ways Brendan will humiliate him as a form of punishment.
Neighbours:
Ian Smith's character Harold Bishop is joining the ranks of fellow "Neighbours" alum Guy Pearce (Mike Young) and Delta Goodrem (Nina Tucker) by having his wax likeness stationed in Australia's Madame Tussauds. Smith appeared on the soap from 1987 – 2009 and made a guest appearance in 2011.
Spoiler alert: Kyle's grandmother arrives next week and promptly sticks her nose in his business. Upon meeting Kate, Sheila assumes she's her grandson's girlfriend Jade and takes an immediate liking to her. Disappointment sets in when she realizes the mistake and makes her feelings known regarding which young lady she feels Kyle should be with. Is she right? Is Kate a better match for Kyle?
Home and Away:
Despite actress Ada Nicodemou expecting her first child, her alter ego Leah will not become pregnant. Looks like her onscreen future will include a lot of dark clothes, big purses and well placed furniture to hide behind.
Spoiler alert: With Romeo's marriage on the rocks, Ruby makes her move, but he shuts her down. She shouldn't lose all hope though, as he later moves in for a kiss after hitting the bottle. Will Ruby jump at the opportunity?
Brax is none too pleased when Hayley returns to Summer Bay. Blaming her for Charlie's death, he forces her into a car and heads for a dangerous cliff-top. Will things turn deadly or will cooler heads prevail?
