Although soap fans are used to being able to meet and greet their favorite stars at charity events, these are usually within the confines of restaurants, luxury liners and malls. This past weekend, however, they had a the chance to see their small screen idols in a very different environment. In Carlsbad, California on Saturday, May the 17th, some stars were on hand for the premier of the Celebrity Fishing Tournament. The event was held by the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation to raise funds for its programs with additional proceeds going to the United Anglers of Southern California and Hubbs Sea World Research Institute.

From 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM, participants in the event were lucky enough to have a chance to fish with the stars, accompanying them by boat or watching them from dry land. Soaps stars attending included Days of Our Lives’ Arianne Zuker, Joseph Mascolo and Patrika Darbo as well as Bold and the Beautiful’s Kyle Lowder and Passions’ Richard Steinmetz. Additional celebs on hand were Reality TV stars Christopher Knight and Adrianne Curry as well as The Amazing Race season five winners Chip and Kim McCallister. Actors Christopher Atkins, Erin Moran and Marc McClure were also in attendance for this charity event.
