Whether it’s soap operas, reality TV, movies or sporting events, watching television for entertainment is a routine that most of us incorporate into our everyday lives. However, have you ever wondered what those who star in our favorite shows watch themselves? During some of our recent interviews, our Soaps.com staff asked soap stars what they watch in their free time – when they get it!

All My Children

Kristi Knight spoke with Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery, AMC) before the first annual Soap Cruise, when the fall TV season had just kicked off. She asked if he was Tivoing anything and Cameron says, “I’ve got a lot of interest but I’m so busy that all I watch is cartoons in the morning with my son!”

As the World Turns

Lori Wilson asked Colleen Zenk-Pinter (Barbara Ryan, ATWT) if she watched other soaps. Colleen says, “Not anymore. I used to. When I was younger I used to. Actually in college I got hooked on the whole ABC lineup, which is where I first started watching soap operas because when my grandmother would watch As the World Turns, I would walk out of the room. I watched Edge of Night with her; I didn’t watch As the World Turns. No, I don’t anymore so I don’t really keep up with what people are doing.”

Days of Our Lives

Lori Wilson asked Martha Madison (ex-Belle Brady, DAYS) if she watched other soaps. Martha says, “I watch several of them off and on. I can’t say I’m a religious watcher of any of them, but I watch General Hospital probably most I would say. I watch The Young and the Restless a lot and I watch All My Children and One Life to Live now that Farah’s [Fath] (Gigi) on there, I’ve watched it a few times. She’s been great. That’s all she needed was a good role with good writing, because she’s so good at what she does and she wasn’t really allowed to do very much of that.
