One Life to Live director Larry Carpenter picked up the award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Daytime Serial at the Director’s Guild of America awards on Saturday, January 26, 2008 for his episode # 9947. It was in the midst of the Llanview Hospital explosion when Nash (Forbes March) stepped in and was forced to save Antonio’s (Kamar de los Reyes) life during the whole liver transplant storyline. Soaps.com wants to send Larry a huge congratulations! Although he’s a five time nominee, this is his second win in the category to date!

On the heels of yesterday’s NAACP Image Awards Nominees announcement, comes another day for daytime celebration!

The Directors Guild of America has just released this year’s nominees, announced by President Michael Apted, for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, Documentaries and Commercials for the year 2007.

In the category of Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Daytime Serials, the nominees are…

All My Children’s Casey Childs for episode # 9669. This is Casey’s third DGA nomination!

As the World Turns’s Christopher Goutman for episode #12971, which is his third nomination as well!

General Hospital’s Scott McKinsey for episode #11228. This is Scott’s sixth nomination, including one for Port Charles in 2002!

Guiding Light’s Ellen Wheeler for episode #15221. This is Ellen’s third nomination for the award!

One Life to Live’s Larry Carpenter for episode #9947. Larry is a five-time nominee for the award!

Be sure to tune into the event set to air on January 26, 2008 from the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California where the winners will be announced, along with the episodes that granted their nomination!
