Adrian Bellani (NBC) would like to give a warm welcome to Passions very own Adrian Bellani AKA Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald, brought to you by Amy Mistretta, writer for the Passions division of!

It’s 1:45 p.m. Eastern time, and I’m anxiously awaiting a call from Los Angeles (10:45 a.m. Pacific time). When the phone rings, I pick up

“Hello, Amy speaking.”

“Hey Amy, it’s Adrian.”

“Hi there!” I say, excitement taking over my previously calm state!

I notice Adrian has the call on speakerphone.

“Can you hear me?” Adrian asks.

“Just fine,” I say.

Adrian tells me he’s getting ready to leave the studio, dabbing on a bit of cologne as we speak. Can’t you just smell that cologne, ladies! I have to admit, I caught myself inhaling! In the background I hear a casting call for Heidi [Mueller] (Passions Kay Bennett).

“Sorry about that,” Adrian says.

“No, problem,” I assure him.

Knowing Adrian is a very busy man, I thank him for taking the time out of his tight schedule to call me for a phone interview, then he very generously agrees to answer a few questions for

“Can you please give us a little insight into the man behind Adrian Bellani the star?” I ask. “What do you like to do in your free time?”

“I’m a very athletic, health conscious person. I like to stay active, eat well. I enjoy working out, going to the gym, to the beach, being in the sun. I like to take in a movie now and then just to keep up with what’s ‘new’ out there. My favorite thing to do is spend time at home, with friends, rather than going out and partying. Mark Wystrach [Passions Nicholas Foxworth “Fox” Crane] is a really good friend of mine.”

Wow, what a breath of fresh air, I think to myself, a star who loves the normal things in life.

“What music are you into?” I proceed.

“I like all kinds of music.” To which Adrian lists many genres. “Basically, anything, but metal.”

“What’s your all-time favorite food?” I ask.

“I like a good chicken breast, with a side of broccoli and mashed sweet potatoes,” Adrian says, then adds, “Oh, and anything with black beans in it.”

Suppressing myself from suggesting that I cook a nice home-style meal for Adrian, LOL, I move on with my next question

“If you weren’t an actor, what profession could you see yourself in?”

“Hmm If I weren’t acting I’m just so blessed to have the job that I’ve dreamed about my whole life. There are so many people out there who have jobs they don’t like. I’m so blessed But, if I wasn’t an actor, I’d love to sing, to be a rockstar, to feel the rush and excitement of standing in front of thousands of fans.”

“Very cool,” I say. After all, it wouldn’t be hard imaging Adrian on stage in front of tons of screaming fans. “Is there any Passions cast mate who you have predominantly enjoyed working with?”

“I love working with Heidi [Mueller] [Passions Kay Bennett]. We’re really good friends. I’ve also been fortunate to work with and learn from Juliet Mills [Passions Tabitha Lenox].”

“If there were one person you could star opposite, anyone, who would it be?” I push forward.

“Guy or girl?” Adrian asks.

“Whoever you’d like.”

“That’s a tough question.” Adrian laughs.

“You’re not the first actor to say that to me.” I laugh as well.

“I guess if I had to choose, I’d say Johnny Depp or Rachel McAdams,” Adrian responds.

“Can you tell your fans something about you that they would never guess?” I ask.

“Something that they would never guess I’m extremely quiet, very shy. I keep to myself,” Adrian says.

There’s something else you, the fans, may not know about Adrian. He is a very avid supporter of PADRES Contra El Cncer, a program dedicated to improving the lives of children with cancer. PADRES Contra El Cncer offers educational, emotional and programmatic resources to assist families undergoing one of life’s most trying experiences – the diagnosis of a child with cancer.
