Past History
Jessica is the daughter of Sam and Grace Bennett. She has always enjoyed a close relationship with her mother, but struggled to be amicable with her sister Kay. Jessica has always believed that blood is thicker than water and has supported her sister Kay�even when she was in the wrong. Jessica started to take matters into her own hands when she switched the voting tags at the prom (which Kay had rigged in an attempt to ensure that Kay and Miguel were crowned as King and Queen). Jessica has always been a fan of Miguel and Charity and knew that Kay would never stop on her own.
Her faith in her family was tested when David and John came into town. Jessica knew for certain that Kay had forced herself in between Charity and Miguel, but couldn't prove that either. Jessica knew that no one would believe her because she had been secretly seeing Kay�s boyfriend Reese. She was furious to realize that a curse put on some popcorn (by Kay), to make Charity and Miguel split, was actually what broke up her and Reese. Jessica had always been the good girl of Harmony, but things changed once she started college.
Jessica couldn't take the pressure of her family crumbling and started smoking, cutting herself and became a club girl. Eventually she was drugged and raped by an older man. Spike ended up taking further advantage of Jessica's situation and got her addicted to drugs and thrust her into a life of prostitution. Jessica was overwhelmed with guilt and Spike used that guilt to keep her doing exactly what he wanted. Jessica then started having black outs and waking up next to dead John's. Paloma and Simone helped her cover up the murders (uncertain that she had committed them), but she was still unable to get away from Spike. He tracked her to Rome where she held him at gunpoint. Spike again used guilt and made her believe that she would shame her family. When they caught up to them and told Spike that Jessica could put him away for a long time, she yelled out that she couldn't - because they are married and that he was the only one who truly cared for her!
