Kerr is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. She moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school. She wanted to fulfill a dream she had of being an actor. acting, and loved it so has been there ever since. Her son, Chris Warren, Jr. (to whom Kerr gave birth as a teenager) is also an actor. Kerr is still with Christopher Warren, the father of her son, and they have been together since their teens.

After obtaining her high school diploma, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kerr moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. After serving at Los Angeles posh 'Skybar', Kerr's first professional acting included portraying a waitress on the WAYANS BROS! SInce then she has been in film and theatre, as well as quite a few primetime TV shows.

Kerr is a sports enthusiast. She likes keeping in shape by practicing ballet, volleyball, basketball, bowling and ballroom dancing. She resides in Los Angeles with her long-time partner, actor Chris Warren and their son, actor Christopher Warren, Jr.
