One Life To Live’s 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations

Robert S. Woods (ABC)
Recognizing Llanview.
Soaps.com is excited to announced the “One Life To Live” actors who made this year’s 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Nomination’s list, as well as the show’s technical nominations. The show was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team!
Erika Slezak was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress category for her work as Victoria Lord Davidson Banks. In 2011, Slezak’s character fought battles not only of her own but surrounding daughter Jessica (Bree Williamson) as she struggled against her D.I.D. One storyline that stood out for Viki was facing the loss of her husband, Charlie Banks (Brian Kerwin). As always, Viki remained strong and made the decision to walk away from Charlie and his deception and concentrate on what’s always been most important to her – her children. Slezak, and her Llanview role, will go down in Daytime history as one of the best.
Robert S. Woods was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor category for his role as Bo Buchanan. Woods’ character was at the top of his game, leading the Llanview Police Department while struggling with his personal life. He faced losing his son when it was revealed that Matthew (Eddie Alderson) had killed Eddie Ford (John Wesley Shipp) and stood by Nora’s (Hillary B. Smith) plea to help keep the secret hidden. Bo was also there for Rex Balsom (John Paul Lavoisier) when he thought he’d lost Gigi (Farah Fath) for good.
Eddie Alderson was nominated in the Outstanding Younger Actor category for his role as Matthew Buchanan. Alderson's character faced some heavy issues this past year. He was torn between his parents and his uncle and was even pulled into their mess to the fullest by confronting Eddie Ford and ultimately shooting him in cold blood. However, most memorable for Matthew during 2011 was waking up from a coma and finding out that he was the father of Destiny's (Shenell Edmonds) baby. The struggles he exhibited throughout that ordeal were certainly felt by many teenage parents.
"One Life To Live" also received many technical nominations in these categories: Outstanding Achievement In Costume Design, Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing, Outstanding Achievement in Makeup, Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing, Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction and Composition, and Outstanding Original Song for "One Life."
Soaps.com congratulates the show, its actors and the crew! We will be back with the winners after they are announced during the awards ceremony on June 23.
