Tobias, Kamar and Tika Grab NCAAP Nomination!
Get your pom-poms out and get ready to give a big cheer! One Life to Live stars, Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio), Tika Sumpter (Layla) and Tobias Truvillion (Vincent) have all been nominated for this year’s NAACP Award for Outstanding Actor/Actress in a Daytime Drama Series!
There were many notable scenes from 2007, which surely played a part in the nominations. Kamar was spectacular during the whole Jess/Tess saga and had no trouble bringing true emotions to the screen through Antonio, making us feel his pain! Then there was Tika… Given such a real life storyline as with the “One Pure People” premise, Tika brought fans into her character’s world through Layla’s grief, how she dealt with the racism sweeping through Llanview and ultimately had us grieving along with her when sister Evangeline was one of the fallen victims. Last but not least, we have to give a high-five to Tobias for taking a character that we loved to hate and turning him into a real respectable businessman!
Scheduled to air on February 14, 2008 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Eastern time, fans should tune into FOX, as The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will announce the winners and credit all the daytime stars for their individual contributions to their respective soaps!
Also, in other award news surrounding our favorite drama, One Life to Live director Larry Carpenter has been nominated for the show’s episode #9947 by The Directors Guild of America, which will air its ceremony on January 26, 2008 from the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California!
Soaps.com wants to wish all the lucky nominees our best! May you bring home the award for not only you but for the show that you have left your mark on! We'll be sure to let you all know if One Life to Live or any of its actors get the win!
