Nearly eight months later, sadly, the news of former One Life to Live actor Lee Patterson (ex- Joe Riley) has been released to the soap world. The actor was said to have suffered an illness, which in turn resulted in the 77 year-old’s death on February 14, 2007.

Since we couldn’t find any concrete documentation concerning Lee’s death, we contacted ABC Media Relations Rep. Laurie Hogan who told Soaps.com, “As far as I am aware it is true. Since he was no longer on OLTL, we did not have direct contact with him.”

Born on March 31, 1929, Lee was best known by OLTL fans as the husband to Victoria Lord Riley (Erika Slezak), and father to her sons Kevin and Joey Riley (now Buchanan). Lee took on the role of Joe back in 1968 and appeared on and off throughout the years until 1988. Aside from an amazing resume prior to his time on One Life to Live, Lee also appeared on Another World and Texas as Dr. Kevin Cooke during the 1980’s. His last documented role was playing Sergeant Gaylor in the 1994 movie Healer.

Soaps.com wants to express our condolences to Lee’s family. His character provided fans with much pleasure all through the years and will always be remembered amongst those who admired his talent!
