New TV, video game and online series projects for former soap stars.
Actors might leave daytime, but they’re never far from our screens. Soaps.com has compiled the latest places to find some of your favorite former soap opera actors from All My Children, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless.
Crackdown 3 on XBox
Nicola Posener (ex-Amelia, B&B) completed a role in the upcoming video game Crackdown 3, which launches this Friday February 15 on XBox One and Microsoft Windows. She shared the news on Instagram, enthusing “A shoutout to my gaming friends! Had the pleasure of recording a fun role in the upcoming ‘Crackdown 3’ video game launching this Friday on XBox! Check it out.”
Actor Sean Carrigan (ex-Ben “Stitch” Rayburn, Y&R) wrote on Instagram about his impending debut as part of the cast of Conviction, the latest in the Anthem world of live-action video game stories, dropping on Valentine’s Day. The game is billed as the latest story from Neill Blomkamp, the director of District 9 and Elysium. The narrative takes place decades before the beginning of the original Anthem story.
FBI: Most Wanted
Returning to her Law & Order producer Dick Wolf’s television world, former AMC star Alana de la Garza (ex-Rosa Santos) will play a lead role opposite Julian McMahon (Charmed, Nip/Tuck) and Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider) in FBI: Most Wanted. The new series will air on CBS and is a spinoff of his recent drama, FBI. De la Garza will portray A.S.A.C. (Assistant Special Agent in Charge) Isobel Castile, Fugitive Squad Supervisor, a rising star in law enforcement who avoids politics.
Sherri Saum (ex-Vanessa Hart, Sunset Beach; ex-Keri Reynolds, OLTL) has been tapped for a recurring role in Limetown, a 10-episode series to stream on Facebook Watch. Based on the popular podcast, the show focuses on a journalist, to be portrayed by Jessica Biel (7th Heaven) as she investigates the mysterious disappearance of over 300 people at a Tennessee neuroscience research facility. Saum will play the intimidating and consummate professional boss of Biel’s character. Saum can also be seen in Netflix’s upcoming Locke & Key.
In addition to Dominic Zamprogna returning to General Hospital for a short stint as Dante Falconeri, the actor will be part of the cast of Tin Star, a Canadian crime drama that follows a British police officer who moves his family to the Canadian Rockies only to face tragedy, secrets and an unexpected fight. Zamprogna, a Toronto native, plays the character of Estuardo.
