Is this GH’s way to extend what taping they have in the can? Throw in a bunch of FB’s every episode? I’ve noticed a lot more FB scenes lately.
I think that’s exactly why they are doing it.
I noticed that too.
Also, with years in the making s/ls like they have been dragging on lately, it helps refresh older viewers and bring the new ones up to speed quick, but it does seem likely it’s a stretching maneuver.
I’ve been thinking the same thing and, for a fairly new viewer like me, the flashbacks are helpful. However, it’s kind of annoying too. I kind of hate all the interruptions.
I like these kind of flashbacks to refresh us on scenes that happened quite a while ago. What annoys me is when they flashback to scenes that happened days ago or a week ago over and over again. I’m just like keep it rolling, we all know what was said, after all it was only 48 hours ago etc lol
The flashbacks keep my dislike for the character of Nelle. I think they are trying to make Nelle seem sympathetic. The focus on Jax buying her kidney was front and center instead of the fact that she killed a man, then tried to kill Michael, put a dead baby. I know Carly is no saint and has done terrible things but murder, willful calculated murder, was not one. If I’m wrong, I’m sure I’ll be set straight lol. I really wish Nelle would go away and take Cyrus. Those two characters are useless! Nelle has been shoved down our throats and it appears I’ll have to watch her for a time to come!
I think it is a little late to try and make Nelle sympathetic although I agree this is the goal they seem to be trying to attain.
I think they give her more of a fanbase. I hated Sonny from day one and still do. It is not love to hate it is flat out hate the character. Carly I have that love hate thing going on with. There are times I just wish she would shut up and other times I get invested in her SL’s I think Nelle has got a place to go on the show.
I thought the flashback episodes were only suppose to air on Fridays?
I thought the flashbacks were going to be on Fridays as well, but, now, as someone else mentioned, I think they’re going to use them to stretch out the episodes they already have in the can. I also agree that they’re trying to make us sympathetic to Nelle, and trying to build on her fan base. However, in order for us to buy into any of this, they never should have taken Nelle down such an ugly, ugly dark road. Most of what she has done is not redeemable because it involves a baby.
I thought they added the flashbacks to drag it out as well. And everyone all over town is all of a sudden FB central? They dont film 8 months in advance like Days. I thinknits about 7 weeks ahead. We are already down about 3 weeks. There’s not much left filmed.
This is depressing. Quarantine. The one joy we look forward to complaining about is running low on episodes. By the time the lockdown is lifted we will probably watch live episodes until they catch up. They do live well.
What is FB?
I think the flashbacks (FB) are great! But many are new filming…so not sure when they were made. There was never a time the actor of Val, played Frank, or the actress of Jos played Carly, or the actress of Nina played Carly’s mother. So…couldn’t have been made because of suspending the filming due to Covid-19.
My sister caught that too. Obviously they filmed these flashbacks to stretch out what little episodes they have left in the can, but if filming has been shut down due to the virus, how and when did they film these?
yet another mystery within our General Hospital!
From my understanding, filming of episodes run 4 to 5 weeks in advance, so these script were written at least a week or 2 before that. Heck, maybe a month as sets have to be allocated or built, actors have to learn lines, so the “new” flashbacks aren’t for stretching. Only the old footage could be thrown in to stretch, in my way of thinking.
Well, that’s why I’m wondering when they were filmed. Obviously, they were filmed recently and that’s why they are using characters from today to film scenes from the past. It wouldn’t be hard to splice them into shows already completed but not yet aired. Yes, episodes are filmed weeks in advanced but I think they threw these little vignettes together for this very reason. They probably had a skeleton crew, and had a couple of actors come in at a time, to film these one or two minute vignettes in a few days and then spliced them into existing shows. This allows them stretch out whatever episodes they have left. Hmmm . . . just a thought.
FB = Flashbacks
Yes, I agree. Remember when the virus first started, it was ok to gather in small groups so that’s probably why each new scene includes 1-2 people. They likely filmed this stuff quickly. I’m expecting the new scenes to run out soon.
