The standard B&B angst hesitation "I....I...."

Pet peeve time:
Has anyone noticed that many of the characters like to show their anguish by starting their sentences with “I…I…” then the rest of their sentence like “just hope that” etc?

It feels like it’s getting worse and spreading to more characters - like it seems to be an instruction given to them, or it’s actually in the script. I’ve never heard anyone talk like that in real life. I mean, usually you get more than one word into a sentence before stalling and needing to think! Don’t they even know what they’re planning to say before they say it? It’s not like they ever come out with some masterpiece of prose after their thinking time.

Anyway, that’s my pet peeve. I wish they’d knock it off.

I,I,I totally agree with your pet peeve and I add to it with

Sitting on the coffee table! I Couldn’t believe Eric made Quinn plop with him on the table in front of the fireplace so they could talk. Ridge does it at Brooks all the time. Like someone else said on this Message Board, tables are for “glasses, not asses”.

These stupid tics are written in the script and given in rehearsal direction.
LAZY !! BAD MANNERS!! UNSANITARY!!

Yes, you’re right. That’s another ridiculous act that seems to be contagious. If anybody ever sat on my coffee table, I’d read them the riot act!

LOL We deserve better. YouTube had B&B answers to the s/l s. I don’t like suspense so now I can enjoy watching. ;))

It’s from the Joey Tribbiana, how to be a soap actor, 101… “the stare” (or maybe it was “the look”)

A pet peeve of mine is “my marriage” (or their, his, her…whatever)

Yes! It’s annoying. It is almost as annoying as Liam and Steffy saying like every other word.

I don’t know that it is said a lot on B & B, but on Y & R, Victor and Nikki are always calling Nick, “Son”. “Son, what are you going to do now?” “How are you doing, Son?” I don’t know that I have ever heard anyone refer to their son as “Son”. But they don’t call Vikki “Daughter”

My pet peeve is when Bell writes the character’s dialogue as plot driven to what is coming up. For example, Quinn all of a sudden started saying at least twenty times a day, “my dear dear sweet loyal husband or my darling loyal husband.” She used it in any conversation she had rather with Eric, Ridge or even Carter. It was to the point of absurdity.

Another pet peeve is it doesn’t matter if you miss 5 minutes on the show, no need to worry you haven’t missed anything because the next scene of characters will be saying the same thing wherever they are. Everyone is discussing the same topic saying the same exact things.

The words….like, basically and literally should be banned altogether…
They do annoy me, but. Don’t hear Steffy saying it all the time…:koala::koala::koala:

Judge Judy has banned “like” and “basically” from her courtroom.

That’s because she does not.

One (of many) pet peeves - when they show flashbacks from the episode that just aired the day before!

Yes! Or the same flashback, they showed the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that etc.

Then the memory flashbacks get limited when there is a recast. I am so sick of the Ridge and Brooke one with rose petals. KA and HT look close enough in looks. I can suspend belief if they want to show TRIDGE flashback from 20 or 30 years ago. LOL.

She does, Liam does too. Once I noticed it I couldn’t stop focusing on it.
