I think it's surprising too that some think it's VR's fault for being insulted from someone's nasty spit put on her. I don't think that was scripted and frankly, I think it's a form of disrespect to have someone spit on another person, acting or not. Victoria had every right to stand up and demand an apology because the act was unacceptable. I doubt that she is hard up on wanting to come back to Y&R–the writing hasn't changed for the better and she would be frustrated again with the drama. She has had interviews spilling the beans about what happened behind the scenes and some folks got a bit p!ssy about that…oh well!

I remember it like it was yesterday And Victoria Rowell said just that it wasn't in the dam script don't no why thats' so hard for some to swallow unless U just don;t like VR, I think she handle it just fine, because had it been me I know I could never grace the studios again after spitting right back on her but since VR did not go that route I feel like folk are pretty much over it just as VR has stated in many of interviews on several sites that are read by few and not by many apparently because they still asking.

Thank you! VR is too happy to not get sucked back into that fraternity nonsense that happened behind the scenes at Y&R. She had every right to speak up, and no one was bashing Michelle Stafford. What Michelle did was vile, plain and simple, and there shouldn't be any sugarcoating the fact of what she did. Mistake or not, it was disrespectful, and for VR to have to ask for an apology is beyond comprehension. I don't care if this happened 3 minutes or 3 years ago, wrong is wrong.

Well I am not sure about all this. I have read and read and read and all the stories say that it was a scene they were doing and MS added the spitting in Dru's face without letting anyone know. I for one would have been furious! You just don't do that. VR had every right to be upset…Would any of you like to be spit in the face? That for me is the worse insult next to slapping someone in the face. She did apologize and I think it was a forced apology…so someone said…and if that is right for me I'd rather you keep your apology if you have to be forced to say you're sorry…That has to come from your heart and as I see it it didn't…

I won't be discussing this anymore because I have to agree that this is a Baiting thread for Phylis…I had to say my two cents and that is what I have done today so now I'm moving on.

the clip clearly shows MS did not spit on VR… she spit her drink out… This is part of why VR is not welcome back. She totally overstated what happened.

Victoria ran her mouth about a lot of things and had she kept her mouth shut she just might have gotten back on the show. But no, she ruined those chances and has no one but herself to blame

It's a testament to VR's charisma and acting ability that shows how sorely missed she is…Y&R, namely the Winters family, has sunk in demographic ratings with African Americans and people of color, since she left the show. VR has and had every right to voice her concerns and opinions about what happened behind the scenes–for example, the studio didn't have anyone on hand to style African American hair and she hired her own hairstylist. Those hats that Dru wore–many of them were Victoria's. So much crap happened, I don't see how VR is labeled a diva because she spoke up.

Hunter Tylo seems to have rebounded successfully after her 'Melrose Place' lawsuit years ago, and Aaron Spelling tried to blackball her, but that didn't work.

VR didn't burn any bridges, she laid out everything in the open and some people couldn't handle her honesty. How this makes her a troublemaker is crazy!

You can't trash your co-workers and bosses, quit and then have any reasonable expectation of returning. This applies to everyone, IMO.

Think of all the TV and movie sets out there right now. You think no skirmishes happen anywhere else? Doubtful. But out of respect, they don't take their bad mouthing to the press.

I liked dru on the show sometimes i think she is a great actress don't know to much about what happened behind the scenes but i love honest and blunt people if you have a problem with your working enviroment you should voice your concerns.

Phyllis is fictional.
I don't think VR was "standing up for herself", I think she was making noise as she is prone to do.
No, an actor should not ad-lib in that way without checking with the spitee first! But VR carried it way too far and would talk about it to anyone at the drop of a hat! She is known to be a pot stirrer and that is one of the reasons she has not had much work since that medical show she was on.

This is not quite accurate!

I went to see VR at one of her book signings and at that time she was working on two motion pictures with Samuel Jackson and later a movie with the rapper 50 Cents. She is well versed and had brought along some of her sketches and paintings and photographs along with a list of the paintings she had sold. VR will let you know quite emphatically that she is not just an ACTOR but an ARTIST which encompasses many talents as she displayed to us. She is well travelled and passionate about her causes/charites and about life. She is quite intelligent and she is currently working on her second novel and has also written some scripts for some prime time shows. According to the media, she is slated to star in the quite popular Housewives of Atlanta and I can't wait if this turns out to be true!

Now I'm not saying I would've handled things in the manner she did, but it was Her Right to handle it however she felt she needed to and I for one respect her for that! Nuff said!

How does that matter in the slighest way? It doesn't.

Spitting on someone is not a small issue. That's the ultimate form of disrespect and the fact that MS thought she could do that without discussing it with VR first was out of line.

But yes, as usual, the African-American woman is being labeled a diva or a beeyotch because she has the reasonable expectation not to get spit on at work.

What the hell was she thinking?

One thing for sure, you can't believe everything you read, and it was so long ago, let sleeping dogs lie. Everybody has their side of the story, lets move on.

I find it quite hilarious and somewhat sad that the Phyllis fans hate Dru and seem to despise VR, but love the character of a psychotic would be murderer. Quite Amazing in deed! Just sayin!

That's true you can't believe everything you read.

And if you really believe that then why comment on either side of the story at all?

The bottomline is that VR accused MS of spitting on her. If she did, then it IS a big deal and MS was dead wrong. If it was an accident and not apart of the script, then VR is wrong.

Why make a negative comment about VR, a woman you don't know personally, if you really believe that you can't believe everything you read. Because that statement swings both ways.
