Days Ends On Apr. 13th? (speculation)

I noticed in the 2 week spoilers that there are none after the 13th? Do you think DOOL is going to quit airing during this crisis? It looks like all of the other soaps have stopped filming.

I don’t believe they’ll quit airing anytime soon. They’ve filmed through mid-October (apparently including a standalone Halloween episode), so it’s really a matter of post-production work. As long as the episodes can be edited in the normal manner, it seems they have plenty of shows to be aired. I think the issue with the week of the 13th is that the show simply hasn’t released more spoilers for that week to the usual outlets (this website included). It’s understandable that everyone’s routine is thrown off a bit at the moment.

Beyond that, Days will have a decision to make with respect to air dates that were scheduled to be preempted but no longer will be. They’ll likely need to air older episodes, since the cost of producing new ones could prove to be way too expensive, given their meager budget situation.

That would be the bomb, as long as they went back at least 30 years and aired some classics? Heck they could start from the beginning! I’d watch it!

Yep! Days is taped 7 months and one week in advanced. We will see most of the show…maybe repeats of Days when Days decides not to air. I think Days will resume shooting, either by May or later. Depending on the virus. Anyway, stay safe and listen to CDC rules!

On the Y&R they’re showing classics on Fridays as a fill in I suppose, in order to stretch the new shows out.

You and me both! I’d be back in the viewing audience in a heartbeat! That’s been what I’ve been hoping for a few years now - SO much more superior character, couple, & story development then & the folks who didn’t have the privilege of seeing the show at it’s best would get to do it then! I’ll keep reading to see if that’s a possibility!

IMO, that’s the best thing that could happen for the show!

It might depress you. We’re seeing old shows from the Y&R and they’re making us realize how much better the show was back then. So disheartening that it, and Days, are no longer the same anymore. Writers just don’t know how to write for soaps and they sure don’t study their history.

But what Ron is doing fits in 80’s… @YandR_and_Days That is why Ken is keeping him for awhile. Maybe forever cuz there is no better head writers.

I’d take it anytime - wouldn’t “depress” me at all since I already know that and what I WATCH now are episodes & clips from YouTube! That’s SO much more entertaining & superior than today’s product!

I don’t want to see old clips. That was then, this is now. I’m never one to want to go back in time.

Ron has studied the history of Days, and Sherry Anderson is on the team and knows a lot about the past. Unfortunately, that is why too much now is centered about things that occurred so many years ago. I think Ron believes we all want to relive those s/ls. And look at movies and tv. So many are bringing back old stuff with new casts. That’s why an original show is such an exception.

Sherri Anderson is no longer on the team :no_mouth: She left months ago. Don’t know the exact date but I heard it somewhere by a fan closed to Days. It’s Ron doing it all with the writers.

Well I saw her name on the credits a very short time ago. And even if she left months ago, Days is taped months in advance as you know, so her input would still be around.

Days will be airing well into August. We have spoilers up to almost the end of April. But as usual, we don’t post until we’re told to!

Unless if her name is in the end credits, then yeah. I got to see the End Credits again. Her name would have been there under Ryan…

Lorraine Broderick’s name was on after today’s show, and it’s been there before, too. She knows Days very well, at least for a number of years.

Okay, so Sherri is gone. What a shame…Don’t know if Lorraine would be pushed as a head writer. Days did pushed Ryan, but then demoted him. He also knows Days very well.

If Ron has “studied” the history of DAYS he failed the course because he changed so much of it! Also, Sheri Anderson, who was Head Writer during some of DAYS strongest, most solid years and created it’s best supercouples & wrote amazing stories quit a few years ago. I always wondered why but I’d started back watching some and her familiar, popular style never showed. Maybe she didn’t take advantage of her “consulting”!

We don’t agree on showing “old” clips & that’s fine, but the present product pales in comparison and it certainly couldn’t hurt anything. DAYS is suffering terribly now with the work of this writing team!

Sheri left a good while back! Much longer than “months” ago! Can’t remember exact time, but it’s been a good while!

Ron’s name was still on GH for several weeks after he was fired because there were his shows. I am sure they’re legal issues involved in that. I remember when Jelly’s material first started to be integrated into the show you tell immediately bc of the characters being featured.

So Ron was “fired” from GH and DAYS hired him? Explains a lot!
