Where Are They Now: The Michelles
We’ll now take you back down memory lane for a look at the actresses who have played Michelle Bauer. Michelle was born on screen in 1987 to a rather nasty lady named Claire Ramsey. Little Michelle suffered through two years of abuse before rapidly aging into a young girl. The actress to take on the role of young Michelle was Rachel Miner from 1989 -1995. Although she was only ten years old at the time, Rachel had already worked extensively in theater, television and on film. When she left the role, she went on to a stint on Sex & the City, a widely publicized marriage to Macaulay Culkin and extensive theater work. She also appeared in the controversial film Bully and the recent Black Dahlia starring alongside Hilary Swank and Scarlett Johansson. She has completed three films to be released this year including The Blue Hour and Tooth & Nail.
Rebecca Budig was next to play Michelle Bauer, claiming the role from 1995 -1998. Following her stint on the show, she became an interviewer for the World Wrestling Federation before moving on to a starring role on AMC. She played Greenlee Smythe du Pres Lavery from 1999 -2005 to wide acclaim. It was also during this time that she did additional work as an interviewer for ABC. It was in this role that she met her future husband, former The Bachelor star Bob Guiney. Most recently she appeared on the CBS comedy Out of Practice.
The next Michelle was played by Bethany Joy Lenz between 1998 and 2000. Audiences first saw her on GL in the role of Reva’s clone. Since the public seemed to take a shine to her, the show decided to hire her back on when Rebecca Budig exited from the role. Subsequently, she moved on to Broadway before making appearances on Charmed, Felicity and The Guardian. She was then cast in the role that she has become best known for, Haley James Scott on the WB television series One Tree Hill. She has also recorded several albums as a singer/songwriter and toured throughout the states. She married fellow musician Michael Galeotti on New Year’s eve 2005.
The last Michelle was played by Nancy St. Alban. She took on the role from 2000 until 2005 and won audiences over with the Michelle and Danny storyline. Previous to this, she worked in musical theater and was a successful ballet dancer. In her career, she has starred in more than 30 commercials. After leaving the show, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue other career options. Currently she lives with her husband, Chris Puleo, and is busy raising their two children.
