Guiding Light‘s Orlagh Cassidy (Doris Wolfe) will be celebrating one of the world’s great writers next month. She will be on hand for a special tribute to Ireland’s renowned playwright Brian Friel. The accomplished actress will be joined by other acclaimed Broadway and off-Broadway actors, directors and artists to celebrate Friel’s 80th birthday.

Those who are fortunate enough to attend this event will be treated to a wonderful evening featuring some of New York’s finest actors performing excerpts from Brian Friel’s body of work. This will include pieces from “A Saucer of Larks,” “Philadelphia, Here I Come,” “Lovers,” ” The Freedom of the City,” “Faith Healer,” “Translations,” “Dancing at Lughnasa,” and “The Home Place.” The event is being directed by David Sullivan with casting by Howard Cherpakov Casting.

The celebration is being held on May 1 at 8:00 PM at The Donaghy Theatre, Irish Arts Center, 553 West 51st Street, New York City.
