Former GL Star Reveals Perfume Line
I was going to call this ‘Scents from Springfield’, or something along those lines, but I have no idea what Springfield smells like… coffee, bourbon, the stale cigarettes Gus hides and the grease at Company I guess. Besides, I doubt that scents of the GL studios, real or imaginary, had much to do with what this article is about. To get to the topic, former Guiding Light star Ashley Peldon has recently launched her own perfume line called Starring Fragrances. A long time enthusiast of the sweeter aromas of the world, she teamed up with her sister, fellow actress Courtney Peldon, to create the company. Their perfumes are unique— based largely on the smell of desserts like brownies, cupcakes and tarts. Both young women take the work seriously but let their passions for the product show through on each of the unique fragrances which they put together. ‘It is something I truly enjoy working on in my spare time. There isn’t anything better than finding something to work on that you really enjoy!’ To check out the array of tantalizing aromas you can add to your life, please visit their website for more information on the products and where to buy them.
Ashley Peldon arrived on the show as Marah Lewis in 1989 at the age of four and played the role for two years. Peldon was the third actress to play the part and, while not the last, she was one of the more fondly remembered and most popular. Peldon was so popular in fact that she was the first child actor to score a contract on daytime TV. She won the Young Artist Award in 1990 while, in her final year, she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress for her work on the show. After leaving GL she appeared on other TV shows including Without Warning, The Pretender and That 70s Show. She also appeared in films such as Drop Dead Fred, The Lemon Sisters, Ghost World and The Crucible.
The young actress is currently part of the cast of the MTV web sitcom Connected and has two films coming out next year, 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys and Float. In addition to being one of the most successful actresses ever launched from GL, she also graduated from college earlier this year with a degree in psychology.
