Deconstructing GH: This week left Julexis fans fuming
Port Charles rants and raves for the week of July 5 - 8:
This week kept fans glued to their television sets in order to find out what would become of Julian. All the actors involved gave amazing performances, but many were fuming over the destruction of a favored couple.
The angel of death.
In last week’s Deconstructing GH I applauded the twist that Dr. Mayes was not the hospital killer when he turned up dead. Truth be told, he’s a character many likely won’t miss, which is a testament to how well Matt Riedy played the role. Could Nurse Amy be the killer? She is the only minor character left that is expendable, and one some fans seem to be over already. Now if a major character is the killer it could land them to the sanitarium and perhaps running into Heather Webber.
1.5 million dollars!
The reveal that Heather had 1.5 million to give Franco definitely got people talking. Many fans believe she got it from Raymond Berlin, as she let it be known the person who gave it to her also taught her how to invest it well. Rachel/Hayden’s mother Naomi recently mentioned that the name Webber was familiar to her somehow, which definitely is another clue that Heather is somehow connected to Raymond.

Julian goes down.
I’ve been pretty vocal about how I hate seeing Julian and Alexis being destroyed, but at the same time they have been on fire. Watching Alexis try and get Julian to confess, which he finally did, has made for good TV. Last week I was stunned that Julian was even dreaming about killing Alexis, and now we’ve seen him get physical with her and hold a dagger to her throat. Julian seems to have finally cracked. We still don’t know what is going on with Alexis’ pregnancy, and that too is keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. It’s hard to imagine the destruction of such a popular couple could be so much fun to watch. Still, many are in disbelief that the show has taken this route, while others are still holding out hope. Many took to Twitter to express their outrage.

Friday however seemed to be the proverbial knife in the back for these two, as Alexis got the upper-hand on Julian, thanks to Sonny, and knifed him with the dagger. Julian is neither dead nor out of the game yet though.
What horrors lurk on Cassadine Island?
First off, what type of transportation do Sam and Jason have at their disposal? They have gone from New York, to London, and then to Greece all while everyone else remains in the same scene on the show! That bugged the hell out of me, but with that said, the return to Cassadine Island has been enjoyable. What would make it better is if Helena was lurking in the shadows very much alive. After all, having Sam, Jason, Ava and Nikolas trapped there due to a raging storm is the perfect setting for a horror story. Friday made it clear that someone other than them is there, and perhaps that person is what Jake’s secret with Helena was about. It’s been so long since that was mentioned, but this storyline could finally connect those dots. Could it possibly be Valentin Cassadine?
She’s an evil woman.
After being discussed to death on the show, Claudette finally came to town and is already a schemer with some nefarious plan up her sleeve. It was good to see Maxie was immediately onto her game, but what is her game? Maxie and Nathan seem confident that she isn’t after Nathan as she never loved him, but the way she strokes and hugs that wedding photo of them has me thinking otherwise.
Molly Burnett stepped into the role of Maxie, as Kirsten Storms took a temporary leave of absence for health reasons. Having only seen her play Melanie on “Days of our Lives,” watching her as Maxie has been interesting. I think she’s doing a great job in making the role of Maxie her own and different than Melanie on “Days,” who was always squeaky and bubbly to the point of annoyance sometimes.
The case of the mystery kidney.
Sonny’s lead on Joss’ kidney lead to a blackmarket dealer, who claimed to Carly that Helena was the one who provided her the kidney. We learned that may not be the case, as it was just a story she fed Carly to keep her satisfied. The woman, Ramona, was talking to someone who was really behind the transfer. I don’t know why, but I am wondering if it is Jax, who told Carly they should drop the investigation.
As usual, these are just my opinions. Feel free to leave your own in the comments.
