Harmony’s Connection to Phyllis and [Spoiler] Is Revealed — Plus, Alexis Offers to Print Joss and Cam’s Side of the Breaking Story
Monday, March 21, 2022: Today on General Hospital, Michael wants nothing to do with Sonny, Epiphany considers a change of career, and TJ celebrates with his parents.
On the footbridge, Carly gets a call from Willow, but nobody is on the other end. She hangs up and then receives a call from Diane, who is at the PCPD. The lawyer tells her about Michael’s arrest. Carly says she’ll be right there.
At the station, Diane lets Michael, who is in the interrogation room, know that Carly will be there soon. She says due to the time he’s probably in there for the night. Jordan enters and tells Michael he’ll be transferred to holding soon. Michael wants to know what she’s doing to catch who did this to Joss. Jordan only recently learned about the incident, and once she has more concrete information then she’ll let Joss know.
Carly arrives, and Michael fills her in on the reporter. Carly hopes Alexis can shut the story down and takes off.
Sonny heads into the Metro Court and sees Shawn sitting there. Shawn invites him to have a seat as he’s just waiting on TJ, Molly and Jordan. Shawn fills him in on his big move, and Sonny is glad he got a fresh start which doesn’t happen for everyone.
The sleazy tabloid reporter, Smalls, bursts into Alexis’ office with a scoop. He fills her in on the basics of the sex tape scandal, being assaulted by a high-power family member, and leaving the names out until the end. After learning the victims are Joss and Cam, Alexis asks why Michael punched him. Smalls admits he may have provoked him. Annoyed, she tells him that this is why she doubts his ability to report facts. Smalls wants a byline with The Intruder and this is his big shot. He asks if they have a deal? Carly enters and suggests Alexis think twice about that. Alexis orders the reporter out.
Alexis apologizes to Carly for what Joss is going through but feels that would be a mistake not to publish the story. Alexis warns her this will get out, but if The Intruder breaks it then she can frame the narrative and be respectful. That’s more than how other papers will treat the scandal. Alexis even offers to let Joss and Cam speak out if they chose to. Carly hates that Joss must weigh this decision. Alexis won’t do the story if she doesn’t want her to, but someone else will. Carly says it is Joss’ call, and she’ll let her know. Alexis warns her there isn’t a lot of time.
At the hospital, TJ finds Willow passed out on the floor. He shakes and calls to her, and she finally wakes up. She doesn’t remember what happened. He wants to admit her and asks who he can call. She tells him to call her mom.
At Charlie’s, Nina is shocked to learn that Phyllis knows Harmony. Phyllis joins them and explains 20-some years ago they worked at the same facility Nina was at. Phyllis took care of Nina while she was in her coma and Harmony had her own patient. Harmony is interrupted when TJ calls on Willow’s behalf and explains her daughter’s predicament. Harmony says she’ll be right there. Harmony lets Nina know she’ll think about what they talked about and takes off.
Nina and Phyllis move to the bar, and Nina tells her about her troubles with Michael and Willow. She was hoping Harmony could intercede on her behalf before she’s forced to get the courts involved. Nina reflects on her mother taking her child from her while in a coma. Phyllis admits she’ll never get over the guilt from the part she played, but Nina says she was honest with her and helped her find out that Nelle was her daughter. Nina fears now she may have lost her grandson forever. Phyllis says maybe Harmony is the answer and the bridge between her, Willow and Wiley. Nina asks if she can put in a good word for her given they worked together once. Phyllis doesn’t want to take sides but will talk to her about the Nina she knows.
Nina heads out, sits on a bench, and looks at photos of Wiley on her phone.
Back at the hospital, Epiphany joins TJ in insisting Willow be admitted. Willow receives a text that Michael’s being held by the PCPD, and Epiphany points out there is nothing she can do for him now.
Epiphany gets Willow into an exam room and asks if she’s eaten today. Willow is embarrassed she hasn’t. As they talk about Willow jumping from teaching to nursing, she asks Epiphany if she always wanted to be a nurse. Epiphany admits she didn’t, but she loves her job.
Harmony arrives and gets an update from Willow. She becomes irate when Willow hasn’t been seen by a doctor and takes up the issue with Epiphany at the nurses’ station. Epiphany explains that doctors have to prioritize the patients based on how critical they are. Harmony begs Epiphany that there must be something she can do for Willow. Later, they return to Willow’s room. Willow asks her mom to grab her a sandwich from the cafeteria to get her out of the way. A doctor enters to find Epiphany starting an IV and asks exactly what is going on.
In the hall, Doctor Nelson chastises Epiphany for showing favoritism to a nurse and stepping out of line to give the patient an IV without a doctor’s orders. He tells her to finish the treatment he started and departs. Later, Epiphany vents to Willow that she’s been a nurse longer than these doctors have been practicing and wishes she had a job with a more active role in treating the patients. Willow points out she changed her career, maybe it’s time for Epiphany to make a change.
Harmony eventually returns with a sandwich for Willow, and they embrace. At the nurses’ station, Epiphany does an internet search on taking the MCATs.
Back at the Metro Court, Molly and TJ arrive and find Sonny and Shawn chatting. Molly invites Sonny to join them, but he’s just picking up something to go. He wishes Shawn well and then gets a call from an officer. Sonny learns Michael’s been arrested. Later, Jordan arrives and joins TJ, Molly and Shawn. Champagne is ordered and TJ toasts to his parents.
Sonny arrives at the station and Diane departs to try and convince the DA to release Michael for the night. Sonny asks what happened and how he can help. Michael doesn’t want anything from him. After Sonny pushes, Michael tells him he punched a reporter to defend Joss, but Joss isn’t Sonny’s family any longer. Sonny still loves Joss and wants to be there for her, but Michael says he’s incapable of putting anyone in front of Nina. Sonny loses his cool and screams “What do you want from me?!”
Sonny refuses to have Nina used against him any longer. Michael says Nina is unbalanced and does horrible and hateful things, only later to apologize and claim that she doesn’t mean them, which is just like Nelle. Michael doesn’t want Sonny’s help, and Joss doesn’t need it either. Sonny asks what happened to Joss, but Michael refuses to tell him. Sonny hopes one day he’ll understand the choices he had to make, and departs.
On the next General Hospital: Sonny asks Ms. Wu what she wants. Maxie asks Brook Lynn why she had to race over so quickly. Marshall suggests he and Epiphany could make a lot of plans together. Britt tells someone, “That was a low blow.” Finn vows not to give up. And Chase needs to get back to living his life.
