Carly Is Devastated and Left in Tears Following Ava’s Latest Move
Tuesday, January 12, 2021: Today on General Hospital, Sonny is discovered with no memory, Molly clears the air with TJ about Brando, and Nina turns down Maxie and Sasha's pitch.
Jax drops by the Corinthos compound to see Carly. She sends him into the kitchen to check on Joss as Ava and Nikolas arrive with Avery. The little girl says she didn’t want her daddy to go with Grandpa Mike yet. When Ava, Nikolas, and Carly sit down together, the Jerome pays her condolences. Immediately, Ava says they need to address visitation. The agreement was with Sonny, but he’s gone so she’s the custodial parent and Avery should live with her. This infuriates Carly. Ava insists her daughter will be less of a target at Wyndemere. She promises not to cut her out of Avery’s life. Left with Carly, Nikolas tells her he’s not going to sit back and watch her pass off someone else’s child as her own. He reminds her of what she and Jax did with Spencer.
Jax joins Joss and Trina in the kitchen. His daughter is reaching the point that she feels numb from loss. He advises her to focus on the good things and keep busy. She’s been changing diapers. When she steps away to color with Avery, Jax encourages Trina not to waste her second chance with Taggert on anger. After Jax and his daughter are left alone, she tells him she won’t leave her mom alone right now. He won’t fight her on it.
Trina and Ava talk about the situation with Marcus. Ava rationalizes why Taggert did what he did, regardless of how much it upset her. Later, Joss tells Trina how determined Sonny has always been to take care of her. She resisted him, but he wore her down and she loves him.
Jax watches as Carly says goodbye to Avery at the front door. Nikolas and Ava take her away and Carly cries in Jax’s arms.
Outside, Ava and Avery talk about the half-heart necklace still being at the jeweler’s.
Curtis bumps into Portia at General Hospital. She updates him on the gap between Taggert and his daughter. Around the corner, Brando runs into TJ and gets a punch in the face. Brando can guess why but doesn’t want to fight. Curtis and Portia break them up. TJ vents to him about why he’s so angry. He’s sure Curtis isn’t in a forgiving mood where Jordan is concerned either. They complain about Jordan and her many lies.
Molly rushes in, desperate to find TJ. Brando insists he didn’t hurt him. Molly is sorry that she stopped Brando from coming clean months ago. She spots Curtis and TJ and jogs over. Curtis advises them to be honest and they walk off together. TJ complains about Brando being two-faced. Molly explains she forced him to stay quiet. Taking her hand, he says they’ll have to do better.
Maxie and Sasha visit Nina in the Crimson office. They think that Nina should run a cover story on Sasha and her recovery. Nina doesn’t think turning Sasha’s problems into PR is wise. Sasha wants Nina to be the one to tell her story. She won’t be able to heal unless she steps up and takes responsibility for her mistakes. Nina says she’s suffered enough and she doesn’t want to add to it. They’ll have to take their story elsewhere. Sasha thanks her for always being so kind to her. Nina tells her to stop beating herself up. She reminds her of how much joy she gave her when she thought she was her mother. That’s likely the only time she’ll ever know motherhood. She’s given up searching for her biological daughter.
Sonny wakes up in the woods with a headache and a gash on his forehead. Eddie walks up and thinks he’s in shock. He gives him a jacket. Sonny can’t remember his name.
In the car, Eddie tries asking Sonny questions about his identity, but he can’t remember anything. Something sparks when he sees the Saint Christopher medal hanging from the rearview mirror. As the driver speeds up, a cop pulls him over. After writing a ticket for Eddie, he notices that Sonny looks familiar. They get out of the vehicle. Sonny has no idea where he is and no ID. The cop promises to get them to an emergency room.
