Ted King Is Leaving GH
With his background and leading man good looks, Soaps.com doesn't doubt that Ted King will move on to a fulfilling new experience. He has studied film direction at the Tisch School of the Arts in NYC and has performed in several off Broadway productions. His primetime television credits include: Frasier, Sex in the City, Law & Order and Jag. He is also actively involved in several children's charities.
Mr. King wanted to let his devoted fans know of his decision, as well as to thank them for their support through the years. He expressed that he'd like everyone to respect his wishes and that the GH audience try to remember Lorenzo's "rich soul" after he's gone. You can read the entire letter at his official website.
Good luck Ted King! You've made Soaps.com readers love to hate you (and in some case, love to love you!).

In a surprise move this week Ted King announced on his website that he has decided to leave his role of Lorenzo Alcazar on General Hospital. “I’m leaving the show simply because it’s time. I need to stretch as an actor. I need to take on a new role,” King tells his fans. He goes on say, “I have spent four and a half glorious years of my life on the show and it has been time well spent.
He doesn’t say when his last air date will be, or what will become of Sonny’s nemesis (and Skye’s newfound love!), but he does tells fans that many discussions took place between himself and the powers that be at ABC. “Scenarios have been discussed that would keep me from leaving or moving to other ABC shows but at this time I’m not interested in having Lorenzo Alcazar go anywhere else.” In the letter, he discusses Lorenzo’s complexities and the romantic soul that he started out with when he first came to Port Charles. He adds that “the role has simply become too villainous.”
