GH Rundown for the week of November 16.

The biggest thing to happen last week was the introduction of James Franco‘s character Franco, so I’ll start there.

The storyline about this mysteriously reclusive artist who is fixated on death and Jason Morgan is quite intriguing. I’m loving it so far and can’t wait to see where it goes. However, I’m loving it because of the already established GH cast and not because critically acclaimed movie star James Franco has joined in. Don’t get me wrong, I was wildly exited while anticipating his appearance, but now that he’s on, the thing that stands out for me the most is what great actors the show already has. I’m sure many non-soap fans expected him to blow the Daytime cast out of the water, but that has not been the case. They have been just as good if not better in their scenes with him so far. My first reaction to seeing him was that I didn’t feel the ease many other actors have coming to Daytime – Dominic Zamprogna’s (Dante) debut comes to mind. Maybe it was the anticipation, the high expectations, or that they are trying really hard to make the character seem eccentric and disturbed, but Franco is a bit more stilted than I expected. The video preview for this coming up week looks really promising though and I’m excited to see the effect Franco will have on Maxie, Jason and whoever else he comes into contact with. What are your thoughts?

Moving on, another thing that really stuck out for me last week was: Are Olivia and Lulu actively trying to get Dante killed? My God, did Lulu really go to Sonny to find out what he would do if a cop was gathering evidence against him? If Sonny didn’t figure out it was Dominic she was talking about, then she was totally putting her brother in jeopardy. If I was Dante, I would have turned my back on her, not tell her how amazing she was. As for Olivia, when Johnny asked her where she got the photo of Claudia’s dead body, she totally threw her son under the bus by admitting Dominic gave it to her because he thinks Johnny could have sent it to Jason. I understand she didn’t have a lot of plausible explanations for it, but didn’t she think that could place her son in danger?
