General Hospital Through the Years: Rare Photos and Precious Memories From the Soap’s Entire Run (So Far)
Saturday, February 18th, 2023

Let’s do the time warp, shall we?
Today, Soaps.com is diving deep into the vault and pulling out a treasure trove of classic and current General Hospital pictures, some of which are so rare that even we hadn’t seen them until we went on our scavenger hunt down Memory Lane. And you know us — we would’ve sworn that we’d seen it all.

Included in the jam-packed photo album are images that date back all the way to the ABC soap’s April 1, 1963, debut and the very first patient to ever be treated by the late, great John Beradino’s reliable Dr. Steve Hardy. Don’t recall who the scarred young lady was? You soon will.
From there, we make the rounds of the show in the anything-goes 1970s and, unless you count the episodes currently airing, which are on freaking fire, the Golden Age that took us from one supercouple (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis’ Luke and Laura) to another (Maurice Benard and Vanessa Marcil’s Sonny and Brenda) without missing a heartbeat.

Along the way, you’ll be reminded of storylines that you’ve totally forgotten (that is, if even the pictures jog your memory) and ones that you couldn’t if you wanted to — and you don’t want to, anyway. You’ll see famous folks who guest-starred and “newbies” who went on to become household names. And if you don’t “Aww!” at least a few times, we’ll eat our hats. (First, we’ll have to buy hats, but you know what we mean… )
