Could the General Hospital actor be back after quarantine?

In March 2019, General Hospital’s Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was momentarily back in Port Charles following a lengthy undercover job for the WSB. However, he was forced to leave to deal with a crippling case of PTSD. While we are certainly looking forward to the possibility of the character’s return – especially since it promises soapy drama with Lulu now that she’s moved on with Dustin and more family support when Sonny will need it – it looks like we are not the only ones. In a new interview with Zamprogna, the actor told Soaps in Depth, that he would be “totally open to a contract. There’s so much potential with the character and the story right now. With everything they’ve done since Dante’s been gone, there are so many options, and they’d all be fun to play.”

Zamprogna added that he has been keeping tabs on what’s been happening on the soap and stays in touch with his former co-stars. “I love that place, I love those people, and I love that job.” He joined the cast as Dante in June 2009. When the character was first introduced, he was working undercover as a mobster to infiltrate the Corinthos operation and bring Sonny (Maurice Benard) down. And he got close enough that Sonny wound up shooting him point-blank just as Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) ran in to declare that Dante was actually Sonny’s son. After recovering from his wound, there was a long healing process as he settled into Port Charles and eventually into a rocky relationship with Lulu Spencer (Julie Berman and Emme Rylan).

Zamprogna left General Hospital as a regular in June 2018, returning for a special episode in November and a brief run in March of 2019. The actor appeared in the short film To the Moon and Back and had the recurring role of Estuardo in the 2019 season of the crime drama Tin Star, starring Tim Roth (The Hateful Eight) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men).
