Bold and Beautiful and General Hospital alum is a household name on Hallmark.

ABC and CBS soap opera fans will always remember Jack Wagner for his role on General Hospital as Frisco Jones and Bold and the Beautiful as Dominick Marone. While the actor also appeared on other soaps and the 1990’s hit Melrose Place, he’s made a name for himself in the longest-running Hallmark original series When Calls the Heart. Jack Wagner was born on October 3, 1959 in Washington, Missouri with the birth name Peter John Wagner.

Wagner started playing golf at the age of ten and continues to enjoy the sport to this day. He took part in stage performances at the St. Gertrude School and went on to attend the University of Missouri, where he won the state golf championship. In 1982, the actor moved to Los Angeles and worked as a Universal Studios tour guide while auditioning for roles.

The first soap opera role Jack Wager landed was playing Frisco Jones on General Hospital on and off from 1983 to 2013. From there he went on to play Warren Lockridge on Santa Barbara from 1991 to 1993, Jacques Dumont on Sunset Beach in 1997 and Dominick Marone on Bold and the Beautiful from 2003 to 2013.

Wagner married fellow General Hospital star Kristina Wagner (Felicia Jones) on December 18, 1993. Though the couple divorced on June 30, 2006, they share two children, Peter and Harrison Wagner. In November 2011, Wagner was reunited with his long-lost daughter, Kerry – then 23 years old. Jack Wagner’s first credited role was playing Clint Masterson in the made for Showtime primetime soap A New Day in Eden. He also appeared as an aide on Knots Landing in 1983.

Wagner joined the 1992 hit series Melrose Place as Dr. Peter Burns in 1994 and played the role through 1999 – the same year the show ended with its final season seven.

Jack Wagner’s acting career extended into other primetime series such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch in a cameo role, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Touched by an Angel, Monk, Castle, See Dad Run, Hot In Cleveland, Ray Donovan and various movies.

In 2014, Wagner created the role of lawman and forensic investigator Bill Avery on When Calls the Heart and will return in the role since the Hallmark series was renewed for season eight. He’s also known for his Hallmark movie series Wedding March as Mick Turner, where he stars opposite former Melrose castmate Josie Bisset (Jane Andrews Mancini).

Fun fact: Jack Wagner has remained good friends with music superstar and General Hospital alum Rick Springfield (Dr. Noah Drake) and has even been known to take part in the musician’s annual fan cruise events.
