General Hospital Alum Jimmy Deshler Shares a Sweet Photo of a Sentimental Gift to His New Baby

Former ABC soap actor passed on a beloved toy to his new daughter.
Actor Jimmy Deshler, who played Rafe Kovich Jr. on General Hospital from 2013 – 2014, took to social media on Tuesday April 14 to share the happy news of the arrival of his new baby girl, Luna Skai Deshler, with girlfriend Kianna Griffin. Soaps.com has the post below in which Deshler’s newborn can be seen sleeping next to a stuffed toy that he revealed had been given to him by his dad when he was born and expressed that he never thought he would be so happy to give it away. The over the moon new father also captioned the photo, “You’re absolutely amazing baby girl. I will always love you.” In his Instagram story, the actor shared additional photos of himself with the baby directly following her birth. Deshler initially shared a sonogram photo back in September 2019 to announce Griffin’s pregnancy. At the time, Deshler posted, “I can’t wait to meet you.” He later revealed in November that they were expecting a girl.

Soap opera fans may recall that Deshler’s General Hospital character was killed in a car crash in August 2014 following a storyline that saw him trying to win Molly Lansing (Haley Pullos) away from TJ Ashford (Tequan Richmond) and battling drug addiction. Since his stint on daytime television, the actor has appeared in The Astronaut Wives Club, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, and Strange Ones. He also played Billy in the thriller Marriage of Lies, and most recently appeared as Chris in Hope Ranch, an uplifting and inspirational story about family, faith and never losing hope despite all odds. Set in small town America, the movie, which stars Dukes of Hazzard alum John Schneider, surrounds a young woman and the beloved horse given to her by her father before he went off to war and was killed in action, who, along with her mother, faces the foreclosure of the family farm.
