Fourth Annual General Hospital Convention

Meet the actors of General Hospital at this fun-filled fan experience.

Updated March 19: Soaps.com has learned that this year’s General Hospital Convention has been postponed to November 6 through 8, due to the ongoing attempts to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, COVID-19. The show took to social media to alert fans, “As we continue to monitor and follow the accepted safety protocols concerning COVID-19, the welfare of our guests, attendees and staff is top priority. Therefore, the #GHConvention is moving from May 2020 to November 6-8, 2020.” Fans are encouraged to visit Creation Entertainment for more details and updates.

On January 23, we wanted fans to be aware that the General Hospital Convention, put together by Creation Entertainment, is returning to the Marriott Burbank Airport hotel for its fourth year. This year’s convention will take place from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31. Once again Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) will serve as the host for the entire weekend. She’ll be introducing the guest panels and making sure everyone is having a great time. Also currently scheduled to attend are Steve Burton (Jason Morgan), Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn), Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), William DeVry (Julian Jerome), James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine), Roger Howarth (Franco Baldwin), Donnell Turner (Curtis Ashford), Briana Henry (Jordan Ashford), Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio), Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Tait), Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves), and Eden McCoy (Joss Jacks). The actors will be appearing on set dates, many still to be determined.

Weekend events schedule

The weekend will kick off on Friday with set tours led by the show’s producing legend M.K. Weir. The tours are complimentary and exclusive only for those who purchase the gold or silver weekend admission packages. Fans will walk the hallowed steps of the historic Prospect Studios and see the new and iconic sets from General Hospital. Weir will also ask trivia questions about the show and give out prizes to people who answer correctly. The hour-long tour takes place before the convention, so you won’t miss a minute of the show. Fans will also be allowed to take photos on the sets. Complimentary round-trip bus transportation will be provided from the hotel lobby.

Friday night guests will have the chance to sing their favorite karaoke songs along with the stars of General Hospital. Admission is free to this event for all and fans do not need a convention pass. However space will be limited, and seating is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Stone Cold and Jackal Show

On Saturday night Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson will present The Stone Cold and Jackal Show. The show is a 90-minute music and comedy show that includes parody songs, jokes, and stories about General Hospital. The special event is included in the gold, silver or copper packages. Tickets can also be purchased for $59 and you do not need a convention pass to attend.

Throughout the weekend the vendor area will feature official General Hospital products, much of it exclusive to this convention. Items include official photographs from the studio, t-shirts and apparel, jewelry, mugs and glassware, autographed items, books, and a lot more. There will also be General Hospital backdrops available for fans to can snap photos like a Hollywood star.

Fan video contest

Creation Entertainment is holding a contest this year for fans to create a General Hospital video set to music. Those who enter will be judged on video, audio and editing quality; inventiveness; and song selection and originality. Humorous submissions are encouraged! This contest is open to everyone, even those not attending. Submissions must be on a flash drive or DVD and in a sleeve or jewel case and formatted for Quicktime compatibility. Ticket information

Attendees can choose to purchase single-day passes to the convention or special packages. Currently, only select packages are available for purchase, with more to come closer to the date of the convention. The gold, silver, copper and general admission packages are full-convention admission passes that allow you access for the whole weekend. Gold, silver and copper packages also include reserved seating. Photo and autograph ops are available as a separate purchase for each and are not included in admission packages.
