GH’s Sydney Mikayla Reveals Season Two Premiere Date for DreamWorks Series

General Hospital actress voices role in Netflix animated series.
Updated April 30, 2020: Soaps.com has news for fans of General Hospital’s Sydney Mikayla (Trinia)… The actress shared her excitement on social media regarding the season two premiere of her Netflix series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. “We are back! So excited to share that Season 2 is right around the corner. Woohoo! If you haven’t seen Season 1, what are ya waiting for?” Tune in to Netflix on June 12 to hear Mikayla continue to voice Wolf.
On December 12, 2019 we reported that General Hospital’s Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson) shared exciting news on Twitter about her new voice role in the animated series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts coming to Netflix.
The DreamWorks series follows the title character Kipo who grew up underground, but now must navigate a post-apocalyptic Earth where nature has taken over, but danger lurks. Netflix’s tagline for the series states, “A sheltered girl gets a crash course in survival when a mutant attack sends her to the surface, far from the safety of her underground home.” Karen Fukuhara (The Boys) voices the character of Kipo, who likes to sing and who teams up with others to battle the elements and those posting a threat. In addition to Mikayla, the cast includes Coy Stewart (The Blacklist), Deon Cole (Black-ish), Dee Bradley Baker (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Sterling K. Brown (This is Us), Dan Stevens Legion), Lea DeLaria (Orange Is the New Black; One Life to Live’s Madame Delphina), John Hodgman (The Tick), rocker Joan Jett (Steven Universe), and rapper GZA.
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is created and executive produced by animator Radford Sechrist (Kung Fu Panda 2) and writer Bill Wolkoff (Once Upon a Time). Soaps.com is happy to share the series is slated for a 2020 release.

Sechrist told The Hollywood Reporter he was inspired by gritty shows such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, but kept leaning towards comedic elements and cute animals. Of her new role, Mikayla tweeted “So excited to finally share this news! Coming soon to @Netflix! Such an honor to be a part of this new #DRMWRX series.” Mikayla’s other recent roles have included Craig of the Creek, Fuller House and School of Rock. She also played a young Gabby Douglas in The Gabby Douglas Story. The actress recently went on a holiday shopping spree with other members of the General Hospital cast for Toys for Tots.
