General Hospital Alum Brian Turk Dead at 49
General Hospital alum has passed away.
Soaps.com is saddened to report that General Hospital alum Brian Turk passed away on Friday September 13 in Orange, California due to complications from brain cancer. The former soap opera, primetime and film actor was 49. Many were alerted to Turk’s cancer back in July when his friend Carlos Marlene Montiel created a GoFundMe page, In Support of the Brian Turk Family, to help cover medical bills. However, on Sunday September 15, Montiel shared, “Unfortunately Brian passed away Friday morning, 9/13 from complications of his cancer. Please continue to share this Go Fund Me and I will send out funeral arrangements once they are finalized. Thank you for the continued support for the Turk family.”
Born on May 29, 1970 in Northglenn, Colorado, Turk is survived by his wife Emily Wu and their young son.

Turk’s acting career began in the early 1990s with roles on popular sitcoms including Step by Step, Wings, Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Beverly Hills 90210, Boy Meets World, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Carnivàle where he played Gabriel from 2003 to 2005. He also appeared in films such as American Pie 2 and Big Fat Liar and landed his first daytime role as Bo Crowell on ABC’s General Hospital in 2008. Turk’s last noted role was playing a guard on NCIS: Los Angeles in January 2017.
