General Hospital actor gets animated for Disney.

James Patrick Stuart is best known to Soaps.com readers as the devious Valentin Cassadine, but the versatile actor has other projects going on outside of General Hospital as well. Namely, voicing a character on the Disney Channel’s new animated series Amphibia, which premieres on June 17.

Amphibia tells the story of a 13-year-old girl named Anne Boonchuy, who upon stealing a treasure chest, is transported to Amphibia. The new world is a marshland full of talking frog-people. There, she meets a young frog named Sprig Plantar (Justin Felbinger, Miles From Tomorrowland) who helps guide her through her new surroundings, as she discovers how to be a true hero and a true friend. Stuart will voice a character named One-Eyed Wally, a “local town vagrant.” The series also features the voice talents of Brenda Song (Station 19, The Suite Life on Deck), Stephen Root (Barry, The Man in the High Castle) and Bill Farmer, who has voiced various Disney characters, including Goofy and Pluto, for several shows throughout the years.

The General Hospital actor tweeted, “JUNE 17 premiere on Disney Channel… I voice Wally on the new Amphibia. It’s the story of a self-centered 13-year-old girl who is magically transported to the fictitious world of Amphibia, a rural marshland full of frog-people. It’s very funny.”

This isn’t the first animated character Stuart has voiced, as he also voiced characters on the TV series Blaze and the Monster Machines, Lego Star Wars: All Stars, Spirit Riding Free and Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, as well as the video game Kingdom Hearts III.

When he’s not voicing animated characters or stirring up trouble in Port Charles, Stuart works on his musical career. His recent endeavors have seen him recording his father Chad Stuart’s final top 10 hit You Are She a capella with the elder Stuart’s Chad & Jeremy partner Jeremy Clyde. He also released his newest single from The Apple Tree entitled Walking on Water, which you can listen to on YouTube.

In addition to Stuart, All My Children alum Eden Riegel (Bianca) is working on the animated series as well. The actress tweeted, “Amphibia is here!!! I’m the dialogue director for this wonderful show (and you don’t have to know what that is to enjoy it.) I’m so proud to work on @Radrappy’s baby and I may be a bit emotional having just watched it’s premier so before I embarrass myself just please watch!”
