General Hospital star announces pregnancy.

Updated January 26: Soaps.com is sad to report that Vanessa Marcil has experienced another miscarriage. The devastating news was shared on the actress’ Instagram, “Our hearts are with Vanessa and MC who have lost baby OPM. Thank you for respecting their privacy as they heal and thank you for sharing all of your personal stories. You are not alone.” Marcil and her family are in our thoughts.

On January 10 Vanessa Marcil posted a cute photo of her puppy Rocky snuggling up to her baby bump with the caption, “The GIRLS.” Soaps.com readers can see via the photo below why we assume that the former “GH” actress is expecting a baby girl!

On November 14, we sent congratulations to “General Hospital’s” Vanessa Marcil (Port Charles’ Brenda Barrett) and her fiancé MC on their pregnancy. Marcil shared the news on Instagram saying, “It’s baby time. After 6 miscarriages we are saying prayers for OPM.” Marcil and her mystery man became engaged two years ago. She refers to him only as MC, preferring to keep his name and identity out of the public eye. The actress was previously married to Carmine Giovinazzo, and before that actor Corey Feldman (“Stand by Me”). She also shares a fifteen year old son Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green with “90210” star Brian Austin Green.

Since leaving “General Hospital” in 2013, Marcil has appeared in the Hallmark Channel movies The Convenient Groom and “Stranded in Paradise,” along with Pop TV’s Queens of Drama. She’s also made brief appearances on “Without a Trace” and “Hawaii Five-0.” She decided to step away from acting full time to devote more time to her son, who her mother helped her raise for several years while she continued to act. She noted that, “The only nanny I have ever let my son have is my mom. From his birth she quit her job to watch Kass while I did 18hr days on prime time 4 seven years. It’s time 4 me 2 put him 1st.”

She also recently revealed she’s writing a book about her life. Marcil had been teasing a big surprise for awhile now on social media. Many fans even believed she might be returning to “GH,” with her former co-star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) tweeting to her, “Happy birthday Brenda I mean @VanessaMarcilM see you soon.” She even joked with one fan that, “Carly would LOVE to have Brenda back. She’s in secret love with her and #LauraWright isn’t afraid of shit so she welcomes any challenge. #badasschicks #Lauressa.”
