Actor injures his hand while exploring.

Soaps.com sends well wishes to “General Hospital’s” Anthony Montgomery (Port Charles’ Andre Maddox), who injured his hand while exploring some caves. The actor shared an x-ray of his hand, and the story of the injury, on Instagram. Montgomery explained, “So last Sunday this happened… Short version: An ocean wave slammed me into the base of a house. True story. Long version: Having fun on a beach with my girl and family (my nephew, her youngest son). Decided to explore a cave-like outcropping on the other side of an exposed concrete base (and staircase we couldn’t see) of one of the houses on the water’s edge. Thought it was safe because we were there about 10 mins earlier. Waves smashed harder and faster and trapped us at the base of the house. My girl and nephew made it safely on the steps. The youngest and I took the brunt of the force. He was tossed a little, slightly sprained ankle and scratches. I escaped with a lot of scratches and this fun little reminder. My girl didn’t get a scratch on her (Thank God) and nephew just got a couple nicks. We’re alive so we’re blessed.”

This isn’t the first injury the actor has sustained. In 2016 Anthony Montgomery underwent arthroscopic surgery on his leg due to an injury he suffered while earning his green belt in Hapkido. When not acting and pursuing athletic endeavors, Montgomery dedicates much of his time to a side project that has been a passion of his for years. In 2013 he created the graphic novel Miles Away, which was nominated for two Glyph Awards. The novel is about a special needs 16 year old named Maxwell Miles who develops super human abilities and is recruited by a mysterious organization to battle aliens in the future in order to protect Earth. Montgomery hopes to one day turn it into an animated series.
