Kelly Thiebaud to star in ‘The Abduction of Angie’ with Tamara Braun

First lead in a film.
Soaps.com sends congratulations to former “General Hospital” actress Kelly Thiebaud (Port Charles’ Britt Westbourne) who revealed on Twitter that she just landed her first lead role in an upcoming film. The film is “The Abduction of Angie” and the script was written by Meagan Hotz. Thiebaud later tweeted her excitement that she would be working with Tamara Braun (“Days’” Ava Vitali, “GH’s” ex-Carly Corinthos).
There is currently no other information on the film. The writer Hotz has written several short films, including “The Little Mermaid,” “The Jabberwocky” and “No Place Like Home.” This new script could be an original story, or possibly based on the true life case of missing person Angela “Angie” Hammond of Clinton, Missouri. In 1991 Hammond was at a payphone talking to her fiancé, Rob Shafer, who was only seven blocks away. Four months pregnant, she was frightened because a pick-up truck had been slowly circling the block she was walking down. By the time Shafer arrived at the payphone, Angie was missing and has never been found. The case remains open.

Kelly Thiebaud left General Hospital in December of 2014 when her character fled town with her father Cesar Faison to escape persecution for faking Spencer Cassadine’s kidnapping. Since then she became engaged to her former co-star Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) and recently appeared in the Hallmark movie Love at First Glance. Tamara Braun last appeared on “Days” when Joey Johnson smothered Ava in the hospital.
