Daytime star challenges herself and others to stay fit.
“General Hospital’s” Laura Wright, who recently took a break from playing Port Charles’ Carly Corinthos, is taking on the Beachbody 21 Day Fix challenge starting December 5. Wright, who is a Beachbody coach herself, is urging any fans interested in the challenge to email her to find out more about the plan. Through workouts and proper eating, participants in the three week plan can drop up to as much as 15 pounds, though results will vary. Wright isn’t the first daytime star to jump on a fitness trend. “Days of our Lives” star Freddie Smith shed 15 pounds through the 60 day run challenge.
The 21 Day Fix was created by National Academy of Sports Medicine certified celeb trainer Autumn Calabrese and is based on the idea that it takes 21 days to successfully create a healthy habit. The plan uses color-coded containers to measure portion sizes and food groups, such as vegetables, fruits, carbs and proteins. Each container must be filled with the respective type of food and the number of containers you use depending on your daily calorie needs. Along with diet, the plan also entails 30 minute daily workouts that you can do at home.
