“Rebel” is still in production, and Williamson is the first announced cast member of the show. The primetime series is a police drama that focuses on former Oakland police officer Rebecca “Rebel” Cole and examines the unique and conflicted relationship officers of color have with their jobs. Rebel always played by the rules, until her brother was slain by police. Rebel takes matters into her own hands and becomes a private investigator and a champion for her community. Soaps.com will keep you updated as more information on the show is known.

Williamson also took time to thank all her fans on Instagram for their support on her joining “GH.”

Williamson isn’t the only “GH” actor who will be on an upcoming primetime BET show. Sean Blakemore has been cast in BET’s The Yard.
