New role.

“General Hospital’s” Sonya Eddy (Port Charles’ Epiphany Johnson) will debut in primetime tonight on TruTV’s new comedy “Those Who Can’t.” The show focuses on a set of dysfunctional teachers, and the tagline for the program is: “There are teachers who inspire, enlighten, and challenge us. These are not those teachers.” Eddy portrays the school’s administrative assistant Tammy Sherman. She has been promoting the show on Twitter, and is also featured in a clip released by the network.

“Those Who Can’t” also stars Adam Cayton-Holland and Andrew Orvedahl, who are also the writers and producers of the show. The series will air its first episode tonight at 10:30 PM. In spite of it being the premiere episode, TruTV has already picked up the show for a second season.

Eddy joins a growing list of “GH” actors finding success in primetime lately. Jon Lindstrom debuts on Recovery Road next week as a councilor. In March Nicolas Bechtel will star in Disney’s Stuck in the Middle.
