General Hospital’s Carolyn Hennesy in Courting Des Moines

Political film.
“General Hospital’s” Carolyn Hennesy, whose character Diane Miller recently returned to Port Charles, appears in the upcoming film from writer/director Brent Roske, “Courting Des Moines.” The film tells the story of disgraced California Congresswoman Samantha Clemons (Melissa Fitzgerald), who resurrects her career in Iowa and decides to run for President of the United States. Hennesy plays former New York Governor Joanna Sampson, who runs against Fitzgerald’s character.
The film is a sequel to the 2012 online series “Chasing the Hill” by Roske and Emmy winner Richard Schiff (“The West Wing”). Notable political figures such as Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee and Bernie Sanders appear in the film as themselves. The film opens nationwide on January 8, but premiers Thursday, December 18 at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 theater in Pasadena, California in order to qualify for an Academy Award nomination.
