"General Hospital's" Kathleen Gati (Port Charles' Dr. Obrecht) is the latest actor to join the on-line soap "Winterthorne." She will play the role of Valentina, the power-hungry sister of Joanna played by Linda Gray (ex-Sue-Ellen Ewing, "Dallas"). Valentina is determined to find out the secret that Miranda, portrayed by Martha Madison (ex-Belle, "Days of our Lives"), is hiding. Other recently announced cast members include Michael Caruso (ex-Jason DeVanity, "DeVanity") and Gordon Thomson (ex-Mason Capwell, "Santa Barbara").
Michael Caruso, the series creator and star, said on Gati's casting, "She is so much more than a traditional 'villain.' She really embodies all the layers required for a role like this. She is really going to turn up the heat in this role. All of us are dying to work with her."
In addition to taking on this role, Gati also has a recurring role as Shohreh Broomand on the BET drama "Being Mary Jane," which stars Gabrielle Union ("Ugly Betty") and airs Tuesdays at 10:00 PM on BET.
Gati took to Twitter to share the news of her new role, as well as to assure "GH" fans that she wouldn't be going anywhere.

“General Hospital’s” Kirsten Storms (Port Charles’ Maxie Jones) is the latest actor to join the upcoming on-line soap “Winterthorne.” Storms will play Selene, the younger sister of the show’s main character Miranda (Martha Madison). Both Storms and Madison previously played Belle Black on “Days of our Lives.” Selene is described as being away from home for far too long, but has returned to take back what she feels is hers.
“Winterthorne” is expected to begin production in three weeks. Storms shared the news on Twitter. As with her fellow co-star Gati, this role will not impact her role on “GH.”
